Shadow of the Colossus (Feb. 6)
Best PS4 Games to Have on Your Radar in February 2018

Shadow of the Colossus is one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, and most often pointed to as one of the “artistic” examples of gaming. Sony and BluePoint Games (responsible for the Uncharted Collection) are bringing this classic back to life with a complete graphical overhaul, as well as a host of small changes that make gameplay smoother.
The Shadow of the Colossus remake really does do a phenomenal job of updating the game, rebuilding it from the ground up while still staying faithful to the original experience. We were quite impressed by the game in our review, and the graphical change really adds a sense of gravitas to the already moody world. At the same time the other small changes like new control schemes, an updated UI, and a better camera just make the game better to play in general. This is easily the game to watch out for on your PS4 in February, and the console’s first big exclusive of 2018 certainly doesn’t disappoint.
Dynasty Warriors 9 (Feb. 13)
Best PS4 Games to Have on Your Radar in February 2018

Dynasty Warriors has, for quite a while, been something of a cult hit series as it lets players take part in massive battles, mowing down hundreds of enemy soldiers. Dynasty Warriors 9 brings some big changes to the series, first and foremost of which is an emphasis on open world design. For the first time players will be able to freely explore ancient China, taking on main missions and side mission, hunting animals, talking to officers, and more. Of course, this new design focus changes the mission-based structure of previous Dynasty Warriors games.
Dynasty Warriors 9 is also implementing new characters designs for every character, as well as a new combo system called the State Combo. This system changes up your combo automatically based on the state of the enemy, things like if they’re in the air or staggered on the ground. Dynasty Warriors 9 looks to be the biggest game in the series yet, and any fan of hack-and-slash games will want to keep an eye on it.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance (Feb. 13)
Best PS4 Games to Have on Your Radar in February 2018

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an RPG of a different breed. Instead of the big open world fantasy games like Witcher and Skyrim, Kingdom Come grounds itself in history, specifically the Kingdom of Bohemia in 1403. The game is dedicated to its historical accuracy, striving to meet it while implementing an idea of realism as well.
These ideas translate directly to gameplay through things like an equipment system with 16 different slots for each piece of armor, or the need to sleep and eat to keep your character alive. Everything from the way a helmet restricts your view to the weight of weapons affecting their damage, adds to the historical accuracy of the game. In Kingdom Come the Kingdom of Bohemia has fallen into civil war. You play as Henry, the son of a blacksmith and sole survivor after his village was pillaged by mercenaries under orders from King Sigsimund.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance looks like it could scratch that open world RPG itch, while also introducing some interesting new ideas.
Secret of Mana (Feb. 15)
Best PS4 Games to Have on Your Radar in February 2018

Secret of Mana is one of the classic JRPGs released on the SNES, during the veritable golden age of the genre. Now years later, Square Enix has completely remade the title, adding in a host of new features and updates. Of course, the first thing you’ll notice is the total graphical overhaul, changing the game’s 2D art style to a vibrant 3D one. This gives the story a brand new presentation, which also features voice acting now as well.
In addition to the big presentation changes you can also expect a newly arranged score, the addition of mini maps, new AI options, and new hotkeys. All the changes implemented certainly look promising, and the Secret of Mana remake could prove to be a fun new way to experience a classic.
Fe (Feb. 16)
Best PS4 Games to Have on Your Radar in February 2018

Fe is a different kind of game from EA, following the likes of Unravel as an artistic styled indie game. Fe is an action-adventure title that lets you control a fox-like creature of the same name attempting to protect a forest from hostile creatures known as Silent Ones. You can sing to other creatures of the forest to enlist their help, and even gain new abilities from them that let you traverse new areas.
Much in the same vein as games like Journey, Fe gives you very little instruction. Instead requiring players to experiment with its world and mechanics. The gorgeous neon-infused art style certainly gives the game a unique aesthetic as well. Fe could turn out to be one of the most interesting games released in February with its mix of free form mechanics.
Metal Gear Survive (Feb. 20)
Best PS4 Games to Have on Your Radar in February 2018

Hideo Kojima may not be working on the Metal Gear franchise, but that doesn’t mean it’s about to end. Metal Gear Survive is a pretty big shift for the series, changing to a co-op survival experience filled with zombies. There are traditional Metal Gear mechanics and items, but the game’s links to the franchise are tenuous at best.
Still, in our time with the game during its beta we found that there’s a pretty fun co-op experience to be had. The whole goal of Survive is to collect resources and find a way back to your own world, and teaming up with friends to take down the crystalline zombie creatures can pack a lot of fun. Of course, you can also play the game in single player with AI teammates that you can give orders to.
Metal Gear Survive certainly isn’t going to be for everyone, and that’s fine. If you’re looking for a new game to play with you buddies, this might be a great title to pick out this February.
