The Xbox Ultimate Game Sale has officially started today and will run through until July 11. The sale includes a ton of games which are marked anywhere from 10-75% off, providing you with an easy way to pick up some sweet new games to get you through the summer drought.
In order to make the most of the Ultimate Game Sale, you’ll want to have an Xbox Live Gold membership. This will get you an additional discount of up to 10% off the already pretty heavily discounted price. There are some online games in here too, so if you were planning on picking one of these up, you might as well kill two birds with one stone and save some extra cash. Without further ado, let’s check out the top five best deals in Xbox’s Ultimate Game Sale.
The Evil Within
Released back in October of 2014 to a positive reception from both critics and gamers alike, The Evil Within is a third-person psychological horror game from Tango Gameworks. The game was praised for its genuinely scary moments and gameplay that felt reminiscent of the early Resident Evil games.
In the Xbox Ultimate Game Sale, The Evil Within will be 67% off for all gamers. However, if you’re an Xbox Live Gold member you can pick this up for 75% off. It may not be a new game, but if you’re a horror fan you really shouldn’t let this one get past you.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate: Gold Edition
Following the not-so-great reception that Assassin’s Creed: Unity got, Ubisoft came back last year with Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. Set in Victorian London and on a mission to prove that the series wasn’t dead just yet, Syndicate had two characters, a beautiful and bustling world, and, of course, a DLC mission to take down Jack the Ripper.
A bunch of content came to Syndicate, and that’s why we’ve chosen to put the Gold Edition of the game in our top deals for the Xbox Ultimate Sale. In this bundle, you’ll get the base game, the Last Maharaja Mission Pack, the Season Pass, A Long Night DLC, and the Huntsman’s Outfit DLC pack. With a bunch of extra content and missions, plus the aforementioned Jack the Ripper mission pack included, the Gold Edition should definitely be on your radar if you need to tide yourself over until the next entry into the series in 2017. It’s currently 50% off for non-Gold members, or 60% if you’ve got a subscription. An absolute steal.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
Throwing in an unbelievable amount of content into one package, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection always comes highly recommended from us. Heck, even without a discount on the price, The Handsome Collection offers the best value for money for any wannabe vault hunters.
The Handsome Collection includes both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel completely remastered for Xbox One and stuffed to bursting with all of the DLC that released for both games. At 50-60% off (non-gold vs gold), you can keep you and a group of friends easily entertained throughout the nights of the summer drought if you all pick this one up. Even if you play alone, The Handsome Collection is a great experience and one that it sure to leave you with something to play for quite some time.
Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst
Having only released a couple of months back in May, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is one of the newer games to see a price slash in the Xbox Ultimate Game Sale.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst sees you assume the role of Faith, a free runner fighting for freedom in the beautiful city of Glass. On your fast-paced adventure across the rooftops of this huge, sprawling city, you’ll be tasked with finding out the dark secret that hides within. While we didn’t feel like Catalyst was quite the game that fans would be expecting, it still delivered more of the Mirror’s Edge gameplay that fans will be pleased to receive. That is, as long as you stick to free running and avoid combat as much as possible.
Catalyst is available for 30% off for those of you without a Gold subscription and 40% off for those of you who do. It’s not as huge as the other discounts on our list, but it’s still way cheaper than you’ll find in your local store.
Halo 5: Guardians – Digital Deluxe Edition
One of the biggest titles to release on the Xbox One so far, Halo 5: Guardians had a lot riding on it when it released last year. Not only did it have to right the wrongs of Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s dismal online showing when it released the year before, it also had to prove that the Halo series could go on with Master Chief not entirely at the helm of the ship. Telling the tale of a Master Chief gone AWOL and a team of Spartans out on the hunt for him, Halo 5 is a blast to play through either in single-player or multiplayer.
The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game won’t set you back much more than the standard copy normally, but also sees a bigger discount placed on it during the Ultimate Game Sale. Giving you access to the base game, the Warzone REQ Bundle, which grants you access to 14 Premium REQ packs for the online, and Halo: The Fall of Reach animated series, this is the definitive package for any Halo fan. This edition is currently 50% off for non-Gold and 60% off for Gold members. However, if you’d rather just get the standard digital download of the game, this has also been slashed in price by between 40-50% depending on your subscription status.
