FEBRUARY 2017 XBOX ONE VIDEO GAME RELEASES (5-18)

Recommended Videos

While things do pick up slightly for the Xbox One in terms of game releases in February, there’s still a bit of a lull for the first couple of weeks. Properly kicking things off on Valentines Day, however, are two pretty big titles sure to keep players busy for a while.

If you enjoy being hands-on on the battlefield, then you’ll want to pick up Ubisoft’s For Honor. Choosing from either the Knights, Vikings, or Samurai, players will be able to embark on a single-player or co-op campaign that sees the three factions go to war. Alternatively, players can head online and take on other players in a range of different game modes from 1v1 Duels to 4v4 Elimination matches.

For those looking to test out their stealth skills, Sniper Elite 4 also releases on the same day. This time, the Sniper Elite series takes players to 1943 Italy as they fight alongside the Italian Resistance to save their country from the Nazi regime, and put an end to a new threat to the Allied fightback. The whole campaign will be playable in co-op as well as single player, and will also feature other co-op and adversarial multiplayer modes.

FEBRUARY 2017 XBOX ONE VIDEO GAME RELEASES (19-25)

Halo Wars 2, xbox one, all, titles, games, 2017

Moving further into February and Xbox One owners will be able to pick up a few more games. Most noticeably, however, is Microsoft Studios and Creative Assembly’s joint effort in the Xbox One exclusive, Halo Wars 2.

Halo Wars 2 will give players the control to build huge armies of units from the Halo universe as they take on a new enemy in a brutal war. The gameplay will receive a bit of a change up too, in part thanks to its new Blitz game mode – an RTS take on card-based strategy. It’s the perfect game to whittle away the hours with some friends if you’re looking for something to scratch that strategy itch.

If you’ve ever wondered what a LEGO take on Minecraft would look like, then you won’t have to wait long to find out. LEGO Worlds is finally making its way to the Xbox One on Feb. 21. The game uses procedurally-generated worlds which can be freely manipulated either brick-by-brick, or with the help of large-scale landscaping tools.

Once you’re done building and modifying the world as you see fit, you can jump onto the back of a dragon or take off in a helicopter to admire it all from above. Not only that, but the whole world is filled with a bunch of characters and creatures that you’ll interact with during your time in the world.

FEBRUARY 2017 XBOX ONE VIDEO GAME RELEASES (26-28)

Rounding off another fairly quiet month for video game releases on the Xbox One is Torment: Tides of Numenera. Tides of Numenera continues the legacy of Planescape: Torment, the 1999 RPG considered to be a hallmark for RPG storytelling.

The action will be primarily story-driven and will have a heavy emphasis on interaction with the world of Numenara and its inhabitants. As you complete quests and interact with NPCs across the world, your character’s skills and personality will develop, making them wholly unique to everyone else’s.

If you’re looking for something with a little more bite, then How to Survive 2 may be what you’re after. Having released on PC last year, the game is set to finally make its way to Xbox One at some point in February. Though a narrower release window hasn’t been given as of yet.

The game sees players go out alone or team up with a group of other survivors as they scavenge for food, water, and shelter in a world filled with zombies. You’ll need to craft tools and weapons to keep your camp secure if you’re going to survive this apocalypse. Randomized environments will take you to a number of different real-world locations such as Mississippi Delta bayous or the French Quarter of New Orleans.
