All New Changes & Features in Madden 19

In terms of new gameplay changes coming to Madden 19, everything is under the banner of Enhanced Control and Real Player Motion. According to EA Sports, “advances have been made to give players even more control and responsiveness, while bringing in fresh gameplay concepts to push Madden to unbelievable heights.” The changes include:

  • Fan Favorite Celebrations: Celebrate however you would like with a full collection of fan-favorite signature celebrations.
  • Push the Pile: You are now able to push blockers, rather than manoeuvre around them, for tough yards.
  • One Cut: You can accelerate and stop almost instantly for explosive cuts to break through defenses.

All of these gameplay changes are designed to give more on-field freedom to the player and to “deliver hyper-realistic animations with a higher level of gameplay.”

An EA Sports game wouldn’t be complete without the immensely successful Ultimate Team mode, and some further improvements have been made this year. On top of expanded legend content, which once again offers you the chance to add some of the best players of all time to your roster, changes have been made to the player progression system and the modes that are on offer.

MUT Squads Challenges is a new feature which lets you complete challenges alongside other players, while weekly Solo Challenge tournaments are catered towards people who prefer to play offline. You can also upgrade players in MUT now using Training, which streamlines the upgrading process. These additions are on top of the new players that are added with it being a new Madden title.

Longshot: Homecoming

All New Changes & Features in Madden 19

Madden’s signature story mode returns for a second year and the dramatic success of last year’s game. In Madden 18, fans were shocked by the game’s emotional punch and stellar performances, so it’s no surprise that it has made its return.

This time, you continue the stories of Devon Cole and Colt Cruise, picking up right after the first season ended. Unfortunately, your choices from last year do not carry over to the new game, so you’ll have to follow the path set by EA themselves, at least from the start. The now canon starting point sees Devon Cole playing for the Cowboys, and Colt Cruise trying to make it big after landing one hit song. Where they go is up to you, but it’ll be an emotional tale once again.

Other Additions

There are a few other additions coming to Madden 19, but they’re not big enough to merit their own section. For starters, Franchise mode is adding a draft class creator, which has been long requested and allows you to choose from community created draft prospects so you don’t have to make them all yourself. There’s also added depth across the board, adding specialists in areas such as Power halfback, Slot receiver, Rush left end, and Rush right end. Also, in Franchise mode, you are now shown the different schemes a head coach can run, allowing you to match coaches to your own play style. On top of those changes, there are the usual visuals upgrades and commentary alterations, bringing the game forward as a package.
