Just Dance 2020 Is coming to the Wii, but not the Wii U
Whether you love or can’t stand Just Dance, the fact that is the series is incredibly popular. Enough so that it continues to released yearly. It is no surprise then, that the title would once again hit just about every console under the sun this year. Just about…
What was surprising, were the consoles it was announced for this year, some of them not being quite modern. In addition to PS4, Xbox One and the Switch, Just Dance 2020 is coming to the Nintendo Wii, a console that launched in 2006… but not to the Wii U, a console which launched in 2012. Just Dance 2019’s platforms included the Wii U.
Considering the immense install base of the Wii, this makes a certain degree of sense and considering the poor performance of the Wii U, it is understandable. There are many casual fans of Just Dance that own a Wii to play Just Dance and a few of the other classic motion control titles.
The Division Movie is Still Alive and is Releasing via Netflix
Tom Clancy’s The Division tells the story of a world trying to come to terms with a catastrophic outbreak known as the Dollar Virus, spread by, you guessed it contaminated dollar bills. To restore order, a secret government sleeper cell of highly trained operatives are activated from amongst the civilian population to restore order, by any means necessary.
It’s a fantastic concept, and there is little wonder Hollywood wouldn’t want to adapt it into an explosive summer blockbuster. However, the adaption was announced years ago, with little in the way of updates or progress reports.
Until E3 2019, that is. Announced during the Ubisoft conference was the news that not only is the movie alive and well, its creators have partnered with streaming goliath Netflix.
No word on a release date yet, though, so we will just have to wait and see on that front.
Mythic Quest, the New Comedy Series from the Always Sunny Team
Just about the last person in the world expected to walk out onto the Ubisoft stage was Rob McElhenney, actor, producer, and screenwriter best known for portraying Mac on the comedy It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
McElhenney was there to announce his new show, Mythic Quest, which tells the story of a fictional games studio gearing up to release the first expansion to their MMO, of the same name. The show looks to lambast some of the larger than life figures in gaming, and McElhenney’s Ian Grimm is the self-important creative director with delusions of grandeur.
The show is coming via Apple TV, and we weren’t given a release date. This will be one to watch, as Always Sunny has been consistently fantastic throughout its run, and Mythic Quest should be similarly great.
Jon Bernthal Brought His Dog Out On Stage
Jon Bernthal was another of Hollywood’s big names putting in an appearance at this years E3. Bernthal, best known for portraying Shane on the Walking Dead and Frank Castle in The Punisher, was there to promote the upcoming Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
In an incredible baller move, Bernthal took to the Ubisoft stage with a blue Pitbull by his side. “What’s going on, everybody?” Bernthal said. “Hey, I’m Jon. This is Bam Bam the dog.“ Bam Bam then proceeded to win hearts and minds and was incredibly relaxed in front of thousands of screaming gaming fans.
And while Bernthal monologued to set the stage for his role in Breakpoint, all eyes were on Bam Bam, who continued to shame all other dogs with his high level of training and the extent to which he took to be an all around good boy.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Gets Story Creator Mode
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the game that just won’t quit. At launch, it already had an impressive run time, and you could spend hundreds of hours trying to clear the map of every collectible and point of interest.
On top of that, the game has received consistent story DLC from Ubisoft, to further increase the run time. But just in case that wasn’t enough for you, announced during the conference was a feature that is available now in beta, referred to as Story Creator Mode.
With this new mode, players will have the ability to create their own content, using the same tools the developers do to create quests. This can then be uploaded and shared with the wider community. It will be fascinating to see what comes of this, and the wild and wacky scenarios players will create.
