Catlateral Damage

Catlateral Damage, announcement, ps4

Catlateral Damage is one of the strangest PlayStation 4 releases of the month, but it also has one of the best and easiest trophy lists. The first-person game sees the player take control of a cat with just one objective – to knock over as many of your owners belongings as possible. Game modes include a race against the clock to knock over a certain number of objects, or free play where the player tries to cause as much chaos as possible.

There are 33 trophies in Catlateral Damage, including a platinum (or ‘Pawlatinum!’ as it is called in the game). The list is made up of  17 bronze, 10 silver, 5 gold, and 1 platinum, most of which are simple. Trophies are awarded for knocking over a certain number of objects, for completing levels, for high scores, or even for taking a nap. However, the titles and descriptions for the trophies are the game’s highlight. There are two that stand out in particular, one called ‘Big Meowth’ and the other ‘Bigger Meowth’. The respective descriptions for these trophies are ‘meow a lot’ and ‘meow a whole bunch’, without giving any specifics about how much ‘a whole bunch’ is. Catlateral Damage’s trophy list is a fun, and quite simple one to work through.

The Walking Dead: Michonne Episode 2

The Walking Dead, Michonne, episode 2, Give No Shelter, Telltale Games

Another month, another set of easy trophies in a Telltale game. As was the case for episode one of Michonne, the spin-off of the main Walking Dead series, the trophy list for episode two features seven bronze trophies, all of which are unlocked by completing chapters of the game.

The trophy list for the whole of season one features 21 bronze trophies and nothing else. All of them require the player to do nothing more than finish the game once. The trophy list might not be very inventive but it is certainly easy.

Episode 5 of Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode series also released this month with a similarly easy trophy list. There are 6 trophies (3 bronze, 2 silver, one gold) and like Michonne, they are all unlocked by completing the episode.

The Division

The Division

It isn’t a common occurrence for an open-world online RPG to have an attainable platinum trophy. Whilst the Division does have a couple of time-consuming trophies such as one for finishing all the missions at level 30 on hard difficulty, most of the trophies will unlock during a normal playthrough. There are 15 story based trophies and some others that will unlock as you complete other tasks during the main campaign.

The list is made up of 51 trophies, including 42 bronzes, 5 silvers, 3 golds, and one platinum. One gold is awarded for reaching level 30, which is likely to happen when you finish all the main missions. Another is awarded for fully upgrading the Base of Operations, something that can also happen before the end of the campaign. The list includes some online trophies that are unlocked in the Dark Zone, but they are all simple. The Division’s trophy list can be time-consuming but with some help you can get the platinum without much trouble.

Heavy Rain

heavy rain easiest trophies

The only difficult part about Heavy Rain’s trophy list is that all but five are hidden when you start the game. Every single one of the secret trophies is story related so it is difficult to explain what you need to do without spoiling the gripping story. However, there are two trophies for most of the significant events in the game. Either you do one thing and get a trophy, or you don’t do it and you get a different trophy. This makes the list simple but it also means multiple playthroughs are required to unlock the platinum. Also, since this is another remaster for the PS4, anyone that played the game on PlayStation 3 may remember which story events are linked to trophies. Don’t fret if a trophy doesn’t pop immediately, many of them will do so at the end of the scene instead.

The list is made up of 57 trophies, including 51 bronzes, 4 silvers, 1 gold, and 1 platinum. The only gold is awarded for seeing all the endings but it will probably be the last trophy you unlock before the platinum.

Trackmania Turbo

trackmania turbo, open beta, consoles, weekend

The platinum trophy in Trackmania Turbo may not be the easiest of the month but the game’s trophy list is full of simple ones to boost your level. There are 21 bronze trophies for completing sets of tracks as well as others for getting certain medals in sets of tracks. There are also trophies for jumping or drifting a specific distance a number of times, something that will happen organically as you work through the game.

The list is made up of 49 trophies, including 36 bronzes, 10 silvers, 2 golds, and 1 platinum. The whole list, other than the two golds, is simple. By finishing all the levels, most of the trophies will be unlocked. The gold ones, that require you to get a gold medal on every track, are the only ones that may hold you back from getting the platinum trophy until you put in a bit of work.
