You Might Finally Actually Be Able To Get a Steam Deck Without Reservations

This news might actually mean the Steam Deck is about to start selling like crazy.

Steam has announced today that there is a big change coming to how they handle Steam Deck reservations. That big change? Reservations are entirely gone and interested customers can simply order one whenever they want and it will be shipped, no waiting until Q1 of 2023 and such.

This announcement was made in a tweet, saying “Steam Deck is now available without a reservation! Order one, we’ll ship it to you”.

The Steam Deck was first released back in February of this year to those who had pre-ordered the handheld, but soon there became something of a bottleneck as those with reservations kept getting pushed back. However, those woes seem to be a thing of the past as the production has steadied out, it seems, and it only took eight months. Not to make any cheap shots here, but there’s something to be said in relation to this about the PS5 still being in short supply.

If this news has you wanting to race to the Steam Deck website to begin the process of getting your hands on the handheld, we have plenty of content to help you decide what to play on it first. We have a nice list of the top 10 most played games on Steam Deck for early August. Also, perhaps the biggest thing that should probably draw you to the Steam Deck is that it does in fact run Elden Ring.

However, it isn’t perfect, here is our list of 10 games that absolutely need Steam Deck Support.
