You’ll then be given the options: Not At All, A Little, and A Lot. But exactly how does Bowser Jr help in Bowser’s Fury, and what setting should you choose? In this guide, we’ll answer all of those questions so you can pick the right option for you and carry on exploring in this all-new adventure.

Bowser Jr’s Help Explained

Bowser Jr’s help that Bowser’s Fury is referring to determines how often he’ll help you out by highlighting hidden blocks or items with a flick of his paintbrush, how often he’ll pick up coins and other items lying around the world, or how often he’ll attack enemies.

From what we can gather, Bowser Jr doesn’t do anything else during your adventure, and this setting only really applies if you’re playing in single-player. In co-op multiplayer, the second player will control Bowser Jr. so they’ll be helping you as much as they possibly can.

Which Bowser Jr Help Setting Should You Choose in Bowser’s Fury?

The choice is ultimately yours. We found that playing on the ‘A Little’ setting ensure Bowser Jr. was relatively helpful, without removing too much of the challenge that comes from defeating enemies or uncovering some of the hidden treasures waiting to be found across the various islands that make up the map.

If you’d rather just use Bowser Jr. to investigate things that you spot yourself — such as a ? on a wall — you can change the setting to ‘Not At All.’ This then allows you to simply use the ‘R’ button and the motion controls of your Nintendo Switch to point at something you’d like Bowser Jr. to investigate.

Other than that, he won’t do anything else to assist you, leaving you to take on the various platforming challenges to be found in Bowser’s Fury.

How to Change Bowser Jr’s Help Setting

You can change how much Bowser Jr helps you at any time by pressing the + button to open up the menu and selecting the ‘Settings’ option.

From here, simply select the option and change it between any of the three options. This can be changed as often as you want throughout a playthrough.
