Aside from just shooting your enemies with guns or trying to beat them to death with your bare fists, you’ll also occasionally want to rely on the rest of your arsenal as well. Namely, your grenades and other throwable items.

How to Throw Grenades in Borderlands 3

To throw grenades, you’ll want to hit the R1 button (or RB if you’re on Xbox One). And if you’re on PC, you’ll want to hit the G key instead.

Here are the controls to throw grenades:

PS4R1
Xbox OneRB
PCG

Of course, before you actually throw your grenade, you’ll want to make sure you’re aiming properly first.

To do this, make sure your crosshairs in the middle of the screen are aimed towards the general area you want to throw the grenade at. You can do this with the right stick on controllers, and with the mouse on PC.

Once you have your aim lined up properly, hit the corresponding button to throw the grenade and watch it explode.

Grenades are great for clearing out hordes of enemies bunched up together, and allow you to maintain good crowd control just in case you get overwhelmed.

As you progress through the game, you’ll also gain access to better and more powerful grenades that can be used in a variety of situations.
