Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition
Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, and all of the other famous fighters from Street Fighter are back and raring to go in this enhanced version of Street Fighter V.
The improvements to the Arcade Edition of the game were so substantial, that it made the original SFV look like crap when you compared both of them. The Arcade Edition brings in an arcade mode, extra battle mode, and a completely different UI that made the game a whole lot better.
Street Fighter V brings together all of the iconic characters throughout the series and gives players an ultimate fighting experience that is worthy of the name, Street Fighter.
Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter are very similar in that they’ve both been around for a very long time; if you’re looking for a classic fighting experience –look no further.
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Ever wanted to play a video game version of one of your favorite anime ever? Yes, we have had dozens of Dragon Ball games release in the past 20 years or so, but none that look exactly like the anime itself.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is a love letter to the anime with visuals that are strikingly similar to the show. Every character in the amazing roster of fighters shines brilliantly.
And thanks to the developer, Arc System Works, the 2D battlefield turns Dragon Ball into a more serious and competitive fighter, instead of the Tenkaichi series, which allowed players to run around and fly in a 3D environment. This change makes the game appeal to hardcore fans while also bringing in new players.
If you’re looking for an arcade fighting experience similar to Mortal Kombat 11, Dragon Ball FighterZ is where it’s at.
Soulcalibur VI
The arcade fighting series from Bandai Namco, Soulcalibur, decided to take a little bit of a break after Soulcalibur V –6 years to be exact. But thanks to the long period of time between entries, Bandai Namco managed to create the best game in the long-running franchise.
The two distinct story modes allowed you to see a storyline for every character in the roster, but what was really impressive is the Libra of Souls mode.
You see, Soulcalibur 6 has a robust character creation mode that lets you create whatever goofy-looking character that you wish. You then take that character into Libra of Souls and choose different nodes on a world map to take on main missions and interesting sidequests.
The brilliant presentation and soundtrack coupled with the variety of game modes and new fighting mechanics will leave you with plenty of things to do and try out.
Tekken 7
This long-running arcade series is at its best in Tekken 7. Having tons of customization options for all of the characters, super-technical combat, and free roam in a 3D space, Tekken 7 only improves on an already exciting fighting experience.
The cast of characters truly shines in the single-player story mode, with just enough seriousness and humor to balance it all quite nicely, making it one of the best stories throughout the franchise.
Although playing Tekken 7 by your lonesome isn’t as fun as playing online/local multiplayer with friends, the combat is still solid with an excellent and varied cast of fighters to choose from.
While not as bloody and gory as Mortal Kombat 11, Tekken 7 still manages to stand at the top alongside the best fighting games out there.
Injustice 2
Another popular series from NetherRealm, Injustice 2 pits DC characters against other DC characters creating some pretty cool match-ups like Superman vs. Batman and Flash vs. Harley Quinn.
The RPG mechanic allows players to customize their fighters with gear that is earned by playing matches that change stats, attacks, and other abilities. Your version of Joker might be way different than a Joker that you might play against over an online match.
This sequel to Injustice was a major upgrade and provided players with tons of gameplay options as well as an impressive roster of characters and a compelling story mode featuring your favorite DC heroes and villains.
Injustice 2 might be right up your alley if you’re looking for an arcade fighter similar to Mortal Kombat.
