What the Preload Time Is

The answer really depends on what system you’re using to play the game.

For those on Xbox One, the wait is already over –long over, in fact. Xbox One users have been able to preload Resident Evil since December. If you have purchased the deluxe version, the additional outfits, music files, and other bonus content should also have already downloaded.

PS4 users will have to wait until Jan. 23, however –not that there’s any real advantage or disadvantage to that.

As far as we can tell, the same Jan. 23 date applies to PC players who purchased the game via Steam.

What the Unlock Time is

Regardless of what platform you’re playing Resident Evil 2 on, the game will unlock at midnight on launch day –Jan. 25, in case you forgot.

Of course, for anybody living in the Australia/Oceania region, your time zone will technically give you access hours in advance of folks in Europe and the US. The date remains the same, but you’ve got the jump in terms of timing.
