How to Grapple in Just Cause 4
The Just Cause series is renowned for its absurd level of freedom and destruction, and Just Cause 4 looks to double down on that idea even more. Knowing how to grapple is essential to causing as much destruction as possible in Just Cause 4, so you’ll definitely want to know exactly how to do it.
Grappling has been a constant part of the series since its beginning, and that’s no different in Just Cause 4. You’ll constantly want to use your grappling hook to launch yourself around the environment and make jumps, as well as on objects for various effects. To grapple yourself, simply aim wherever you want and tap L1 (LB) to grapple to that point.
There’s no restriction on the number of times you can grapple, so go crazy. You can also use your grapple to tether an item and throw it essentially. To do this, press L1 and hold it, then aim in the direction you want it to go and release L1 to throw the item in that direction. We say item, but really you can throw people too, if you’re so inclined.
You can also tether two items together by connecting them with a grapple, so just hold L1 and release it on another object to tether them. Hitting down on the D-pad will release any tethers you currently have.
In Just Cause 4 you can also edit your grappling hook loadout to take advantage of a variety of skills and special effects. This includes things like the Air Lifter, which lets you attach a weather balloon to something and lift it up into the air.
A lot of the fun in Just Cause 4 comes with simply experimenting and seeing how things work. Try grappling and tethering a bunch of different people and objects, and just see what happens.
That covers everything you need to know about how to grapple in Just Cause 4, so get out there and wreak some havoc.
