5 At Risk Wii U Smash Bros. Characters We Need Back on Switch

Shulk, Super Smash Bros.

Xenoblade Chronicles was a major hit on the Wii, and while it wasn’t as notable as the other Nintendo franchises, it left a big mark on the role-playing genre with its compelling narrative and unique gameplay. Despite its fame, the series was left pretty much untouched until Shulk joined the Super Smash Bros. 4 main roster. He came with a flexible play style, wielding the Monado and changing his fighting style on a whim. Not to mention, Shulk’s addition to the game also helped breathe life into the series, spurring a remake on the 3DS, a spinoff on the Wii U, and even a sequel on the Nintendo Switch.

With the Xenoblade series now on the rise, Nintendo could be keen on keeping the franchise in Super Smash Bros. Rex and Pyra, however, seem more than likely to represent the series this time around, especially since series director Masahiro Sakurai had some good things to say about the sequel. That said, we’d still love to see Shulk make a comeback. He’s sitting pretty on the top of the tier list, and his moveset is definitely a step up from some of the other fighters in the game.
