Hitman Sniper
10 Best FPS Games For Android
Based on the Hitman series of stealth games, Hitman Sniper tackles the old movement on touch-screen dilemma by getting rid of it altogether. Instead, you’re stationary, and the emphasis of gameplay is firmly on shooting. As opposed to just pointing and shooting, there are also secondary objectives for an extra challenge. The best part of the game is that, in the vein of Hitman, you can kill targets in all manner of creative ways, such as shooting enemies in the right position so they’ll fall into a pool or off a balcony.Â
It’s a ton of fun, and since it’s frequently on sale, it’s never super dear to purchase. If you’re looking for a simple shooter that’s tons of fun and doesn’t require a crazy good internet connection, Hitman Sniper is perfect.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies
10 Best FPS Games For Android
Easily the most substantial entry on this list, Black Ops Zombies is essentially Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies mode, but on Android. There’s absolutely no content from the original version of the mode which wasn’t ported to this mobile version. There are four maps, tons of guns, and all the fun little mechanics that come with Black Ops Zombies. And since the game never really ends, there’s almost infinite replayability.
Just like any mobile FPS, controlling both your movement and aim with a touchscreen is difficult, but Black Ops Zombies features a ton of different control options that let the player find the most comfortable control scheme.
Easily the best mechanic of Black Ops Zombies is that you can play in co-op. Sitting with three of your friends at a table playing Black Ops Zombies together is incredibly fun and is an experience you won’t find in other FPS mobile titles.
Dead Trigger 2
10 Best FPS Games For Android
Dead Trigger takes zombie shooters to a much bigger scale, focusing more on objective-based missions than the survival in games like Black Ops Zombies. Dead Trigger 2 is a story-based zombie shooter which plays more like an RPG than a traditional mobile shooter on Android, putting you through tons of missions while you upgrade your equipment and fight different zombies with different strengths and weaknesses.
On top of boss fights, there’s a ton of diversity in the gameplay through its objectives and occasional dialogue in the story levels. While the game can require some grinding to progress, the several non-story game modes make this less of a chore.
Deer Hunter Classic
10 Best FPS Games For Android
Similar to Hitman Sniper, Deer Hunter Classic is a stationary shooter, but with a completely different focus in gameplay. As opposed to the quicker pace of gameplay in Hitman, Deer Hunter requires patience, a good eye, and deft aim. Thankfully, though, there aren’t quite the hour-long waits for prey, as in the real world. It’s still a video game, after all…
Essentially, this is a deer hunting-themed score attack game. It’s all about getting an accurate and clean shot on the animal you’re hunting in the best time possible. It’s not a stressful experience by any stretch of the imagination, and Deer Hunter doesn’t punish you for taking your time when needed. It’s a simple and relaxed shooting experience for Android players to enjoy.
Modern Combat 5
10 Best FPS Games For Android
This is a Player versus Player classic, with a great multiplayer mode for a mobile game, with similar gameplay to that of Call of Duty, and the game modes to back it up. There is a campaign mode in Modern Combat 5, but the multiplayer offering is where it’s at. The fast-paced shooting works superbly well thanks to responsive controls, which ultimately means multiplayer gameplay isn’t riddled with moments of frustration where it might be in other touch-screen FPS titles.
The game was released in 2014 as Modern Combat 5: Blackout, but in the past few years it’s been updated with tons of new content and improvements to its multiplayer. The game is free, but if you play for the multiplayer you can get away with never spending a dime on any of the game’s customization microtransactions.
Flats
10 Best FPS Games For Android
Flats is a solid shooter with a weird but strangely enticing art style which is perfect for someone who wants a shooter with no barrier to entry. The multiplayer runs surprisingly smooth using cell data instead of WiFi, and has cross-play with iPhones, so for once your friends having different phones isn’t a problem.
Compared to other multiplayer shooters, there is no long progression. Right off the bat, all weapons in the game are free. For those who don’t have an internet connection at all, the game has a solid survival mode which, despite mostly stationary AI, is fairly challenging. It’s a free shooter that runs great and doesn’t ask for microtransactions to unlock all the game’s content, so there’s no reason not to try it.
N.O.V.A. Legacy
10 Best FPS Games For Android
It’s easy to mistake Nova for a Halo copycat, but in reality, it’s a solid shooter with clever map design and a long-established story. While there’s a solid multiplayer, the single player is what matters, with the complex AI meshing very well with the solid gunplay. Weapons in the game are fun to use and are impressively well balanced. Even in the game’s multiplayer, weapon design seems deliberate and finely tuned.
There’s more to the single-player experience than just an obligatory story mode, with other PvE modes making the game much more accessible for those who don’t have a perfectly stable internet connection. If the Call of Duty-like gameplay of Modern Combat isn’t your style, then the longer fights of Nova’s multiplayer may be your fit.
Lone Wolf
10 Best FPS Games For Android
While Hitman Sniper is all about solving difficult levels in creative ways through arcade-like gameplay, Lone Wolf is a story-focused game with at-times incredibly difficult levels that are tons of fun to figure out. The game emulates realistic ballistic physics, and tasks the player with making tough long-distance shots while managing bullet drop, wind, and bullet velocity.
Beating a level in Lone Wolf, the later ones especially, is incredibly rewarding because when you succeed it feels like it took a ton of great focus and timing.
Into The Dead 2
10 Best FPS Games For Android
Into The Dead 2 keeps the simplicity of the endless runner while adding surprisingly intuitive zombie-killing gameplay. Its gameplay is incredibly simple but it avoids becoming a monotonous slog through nonsense weaponry and powerups. The basis of all endless runners is getting as far as possible and getting the highest score, but not many endless runners have a story or multiple game modes. It is free to play, but it can easily be played without spending a dime.
The game is all around really fun and adds an additional layer to the traditional endless runner gameplay that adds a healthy dose of replayability.
Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath
10 Best FPS Games For Android
For those who wanted a microtransaction-less single-player RPG shooter experience, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is a strangely amazing experience. The game is actually a mix of first-person and third-person gameplay, but most of your time in combat is going to take place in the first-person. The game is full of fun content, and is a truly unique experience. For instance, you have to actually hunt your ammo for your weapons, because your weapons use live animals as ammunition. It’s… odd, but this game is really different from most shooters, because of how outlandish its story and world are. The game is so much fun to play and explore, and really is one of the best shooters on mobile for its depth of content.
This is actually a port of the game from 2005, with surprisingly good graphics, without much battery drain or stuttering. The game is incredibly smooth, even on phones which are a few years old, with the transitions from first to third-person being incredibly smooth, but it’s important to note framerate, as with all the games on this list, will vary based on how strong your phone is.
