How to Beat Emperor Calus in the Destiny 2 Prestige Leviathan Raid

Recommended Videos

Emper Calus is the final obstacle between you and triumphing over the Destiny 2 Prestige Levithan Raid. Funnily enough, he’s the least changed section of the entire raid, but that doesn’t mean this is a particularly easy section to clear out.

As always, you will have to shoot the chalice out of the boss’ hand and clear out all of the adds in the room. They’re a bit stronger than normal, but nothing changes here. After they’re all dead, Calus will clap his hands and teleport everyone into the shadow realm. Just like on normal, pick three to stay and three to return to the throne room. There will be more adds and four Psions on pedestals with symbols over their heads. The players that stood back in the shadow realm will call out three symbols. The outside team needs to kill the one not called, and this is where the change comes into effect.

When a player melees a Psion in the Throne room, they will be randomly swapped with a player in the shadow area. That means that during the Prestige Leviathan Raid in Destiny 2 all players will have to be comfortable with all aspects of the Calus battle. As players who went through the normal mode know, it often takes only one person messing up to cause a team wipe, so this adds a lot more pressure to the team.

When you switch, just call out who switched and keep everything going. Outside team kills adds and takes out Psions, while the inside team focuses on survival and callouts. After taking out four of the Psions the inside team will need to destroy skulls that fly out the mouth of floating head at the back of the room (you can’t miss it). The more you shoot, the higher the damage buff you’ll get for the damage phase against the actual boss. While that’s happening, the team on the outside needs to stop Calus from doing a finishing move that kills everyone (just shoot him until the white bar under his health bar disappears).

Once skulls are destroyed and Calus is stopped everyone will return to the throne room. Start at the plate directly to Calus’ left and with everyone on it, shoot the boss. When you see fire appear around you (preceded by a loud sound) move to the next plate, rotating in a counterclockwise pattern. Just do as much damage as possible on each plate, rinse, and repeat.

The Prestige Leviathan Raid ends just like Destiny 2’s Normal raid. Once you’ve taken down all of the boss’ health, he will do one last stand attack. Just have the whole team shoot him at once to stop him and that’s it, you’ve won.

Congratulations, Guardians.
