How to Stop the Bathing Ritual in the Leviathan Raid in Destiny 2

Recommended Videos

Stopping the Bathing Ritual is the first real challenge of the Leviathan raid in Destiny 2, and it’s not easy. You need coordination and lots of firepower (this is where Skyburner’s Oath and Merciless really come into play). The section is a lot easier than it seems, but we’ll break it down for you.

Take a look around the room and you will notice five platforms with an Orb on top of them. You’ll also notice that the water on the ground is poisoned, not allowing you to stand in it for long. This is where those Orbs come in. Touching the Orb gives you a 50-second buff that allows you to withstand the poison. Remember that.

Split up into teams of three. Team one goes to the right, team two goes to the left. One person on each team stays center while the other two members each go onto a platform. When everyone is in position, you must all jump onto the plates (the four on the sides, and the one in the middle) to start the instance. Staying on the platform on the sides causes these chains to move. You must always have someone on each platform to keep them steadily moving. Obviously, your buff doesn’t last forever in the Bathing Ritual of the Leviathan Raid, so this is where the middle members come in. You need to rotate swapping platforms on your side. The middle orb constantly respawns, so you can grab it, then run to a person before they run out, then they can grab it and run to the next person on your team. You’ll constantly rotate to the same person to save confusion. So just keep switching with the person in front of you in the order (we did middle, front, back).  Always stick to your side, and make sure to rotate regularly.

If you need help, call out for it and simply move up your rotation, just to keep your side in sync. You need to keep rotating until all chains lock (as in they stop moving). So keep rotating until all players call out a lock. Once everyone has locked, the music will change and you must head to the center room in this Bathing Ritual section of the Leviathan Raid. Pick four players to stand in the center, where the orb is, and two to deal with adds.

Those standing in the middle need to shoot the Cisterns, the purple lamps hanging on the chains. There are nine that need to be destroyed (though you most likely won’t be able to take them all out at once). Take out as many as you can. There will be some powerful enemies, so don’t hesitate to use your super and or heavy ammo (big enemies give the ammo back). Afterwards, a Psion will appear, and it will cast a projection. Take that out, and repeat the previous steps until completion. Congratulations, the Bathing Ritual is done and you’ve got past the first challenge of the Leviathan Raid in Destiny 2.

We’ll be continuing to guide the rest of the challenges you’ll face in the Leviathan Raid of Destiny 2, so be sure to check back and we’ll update this page with a link for you to jump to.
