The popularity of the Final Fantasy franchise has inspired some superbly detailed figurines. We’ve scoured the internet and came back with 15 figurines essential for any Final Fantasy collection.
Play Arts is Square Enix’s official line of Final Fantasy figures, and there are plenty of high-quality examples to choose from. This 10 inch model of Kai, though, is one of the standouts. The pliable figurine boasts some exceptional detail, and the color of the paintwork is exceptional. The cloak covering her shoulders and waist is made from a soft material and does not impede articulation, allowing for dynamic action posing by bending freely at the legs and shoulders. The figure also includes the sword “Crimson Blitz” and the shield “Night Lotus”, allowing you to re-create numerous scenes from the game.
Cecil Harvey is Final Fantasy IV’s main protagonist, and the Dissidia franchise saw a stunning figure from Trading Arts Figure back in 2008. This highly detailed five-inch plastic model is assembled via easy snap-in parts and comes with its own base. There are five models in the series but this is the pick of the bunch.
Our favorite flower girl is brought to life in another beautiful figure by Play Arts. Fully articulated with over 22 points of articulation, this seven-inch plastic model comes with interchangeable hands, stand and her staff weapon. We really love how well the detail on Aerith’s face, in particular, conveys her warm personality.
The judge Magister from Final Fantasy XII, Gabranth, is one mean, ruthless character, and this awesome figure looks suitably intimidating. Quite possibly one of Play Arts most detailed models, Gabranth’s paintwork is finished exquisitely. Like other models in the range, the eleven inch Gabranth can be contorted into different poses. He comes with two different swords and two different hands, so you can set him up to your preference.

Sephiroth - Final Fantasy FFVII - Static Art
Sephiroth has to be one of Final Fantasy's most iconic antagonists, and this incredible figure captures everything we love about him. At 14 inches, Sephiroth strikes a commanding pose, brandishing a suitably enormous Masumane sword. The fire-engulfed base is also a nice nod of the hat to a certain scene from Final Fantasy VII.
Cloud & Daytona Bike - Final Fantasy VII - Play Arts Kai
There aren't many scenes more iconic Final Fantasy VII than Cloud's breakout from Shinra's headquarters atop his metal steed. Play Arts has a figure that commemorates that thrilling moment. It's actually part of the Advent Children line, but this is the Daytona Final Fantasy VII bike with Cloud wearing original attire. If you prefer Cloud's more futuristic Advent Children look, then there is a similar figure in that layout called the "Fenrir" model. Both are a whopping 18 inches long and weigh nearly four pounds! Cloud is fully pliable, so you can have him in all sorts of awesome poses.
Gladiolus - Final Fantasy XV - Play Arts Kai
The latest Play Arts line of figures are unsurprisingly based on last year's Final Fantasy XV. All of the bros look pretty cool, but Gladiolus is a standout because of the detail of his monstrous sword and the overall finish of the model. The quality and design of this 11-inch figure is typical Play Arts, and the detail in his face is of special note.
Noctis - Final Fantasy XV - Play Arts Kai
Of the same line as the Gladiolus figure, Noctis looks unbelievably cool dual wielding his sword and lance. You can swap out his hands to have him in certain poses -- there's a prize for anyone who set him up in warp strike pose, dangling off your bedroom wall! Given that it is of the same line, you've got all the same ranges of movement available courtesy of double hinged joints.
Chibi Cloud - World of Final Fantasy - Trading Arts Mini
If you like World of Final Fantasy's chibi aesthetic, Trading Arts' Cloud Strife is our pick of the figures available. A quick Ebay search yields several different brands, but not with anywhere near the detail of this example. The eyes are really well highlighted and the brighter colors contrast to give better articulate the proportions of this 3-inch model.
Terra in Magitek Armor - Final Fantasy VI - Final Fantasy Creatures Vol. 1
The Final Fantasy Creatures line is an official Square Enix product. They were first released in Japan, and came in random packs of three. You can find them on sale via auction sites in singles, though. At only about three and a half inches tall, they're small figures, but they boast exceptional quality and an impressive amount of detail. Once you see the model of Terra in Magitek up close, you might just be tempted to collect the whole line. There are three volumes, spanning summons and iconic monsters across the whole franchise.
Vincent - Final Fantasy VII - Static Arts
Vincent Valentine is one cool customer, and he's never looked more badass than in this stunning 5-inch Static Arts figure. The detail is in the nuances of his cape, which appears windswept and lifelike as he perches atop a pile of rubble. This suitably gothic and dark depiction of Vincent has serious presence.
Sephiroth Final Fantasy VII - Play Arts Kai
Play Arts' Sephiroth figure is part of the Advent Children line, which includes a single wing that can be attached or detached. He looks especially sinister with his wing attached and Masamune in hand. As with the other figures in the line, there are multiple hands and double joints so you can get creative with his setup.
Kimahri Ronso Final Fantasy X - Kotobukiya
This enormous 14-inch figure of Kimahri Ronso from Final Fantasy X is striking. The paint work and detail is superb -- possibly the most impressive of any of the models we've found. It isn't pliable like Play Arts figures, but if you're more into the artistic side of figurines, this is among the finest models you'll find.

He comes with two different swords and two different hands, so you can set him up to your preference.

Squall - Final Fantasy VII - Play Arts Kai
Squall Leonhart's fluffy leather jacket has never looked so snazzy in this superb Play Arts figure. We absolutely love how the paint highlights each individual feather, which gives it a realistic textured look. If you've got a collection of Play Arts figures, this 10-inch model is exactly the same scale as the others we've featured here. At the time of writing, the model is actually on sale right now via the Square Enix store.
Vivi - Final Fantasy IX - Play Arts Kai
Vivi is arguably the most recognizable character from Final Fantasy IX, and this adorable Play Arts figure is our pick of the figures from that game too. He isn't quite as pliable as other figures in the line, simply because of his squat size. But there are still multiple hands to change his pose, and you can detatch his staff if you prefer. Play Arts' Vivi stands at 5-inches tall, so he's the proper scale in comparison to taller human figures from other games.
