How to Recruit Delthea in Fire Emblem Echoes
Mages are some of the most useful units you can have in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, decimating armored enemies and Terrors with powerful spells. During Alm’s quest in Act 3 you’ll run into a couple different mages, the brother and sister Luthier and Delthea.
You’ll first encounter Luthier in the Forest Village just outside of Desaix’s Fortress. If you talk to him, he’ll tell you how the Duma Faithful has his sister captive under mind control, wanting to use her special aptitude for magic to their advantage. She’s being held at the Sluice Gate to the North.
Once you finally arrive at the Sluice Gate map in Fire Emblem Echoes you’ll notice Delthea in the back next to the boss. Now this can be a bit tricky but you need to make sure not to kill Delthea in this battle, otherwise you can’t recruit her. To make matters worse, Delthea has the ability to teleport instantly putting her next to anyone she chooses to attack. The best way to get through this battle is to advance as fast as you can to the boss. Use Python and other long-range units to hit the boss as quick as you can, before Delthea can be countered by any of your strongest units. If she does die, don’t be afraid to use Mila’s Turnwheel to move time back, and try a different strategy.
Once you’ve won the battle with Delthea alive, head inside the Sluice Gate and you’ll be able to talk to and recruit her.
