Espeon – Pokemon Sun and Moon
Pokemon Sun and Moon isn’t the first game that lets you catch Eevee in the wild, but it is the first game where you can find one of its evolutions. Of course, you can’t find Espeon that easy, but if you make use of the new mechanics in the game then it becomes a bit easier.
You’ll have to head over to Route 4 or Route 6 during the day, since Espeon is considered the light evolution of Eevee it won’t appear at night. Once you find an Eevee you will want to get it to low health so a move like False Swipe would work here. The idea here is for it to use the S.O.S mechanic in order to call for help and hoping it will spawn an Espeon. Once you do so then you’ll want to make that Eevee faint and focus on catching the Espeon. You’ll want to at least get its health to yellow and see if you can try to catch it there instead of red where it’s most likely to get help.
Honestly, it might be a bit easier to evolve a single Eevee, but using the S.O.S mechanic gives you a better chance of finding its light-based evolution with better IV stats. It’s also a great way to get some EV training and is the only way you can find a shiny one in the wild. Hopefully, you can find one with Magic Bounce, which is the best ability it can have because it can reflect non-attack moves back at attackers. This also means you’ll have to be careful if you try to paralyze a wild Espeon. Once you capture it then you can be on your way to being the best trainer out there.
