Pokemon Sun and Moon – Catching Absol

Recommended Videos

Absol makes a return in Sun and Moon, and players will be able to encounter this Pokemon in the latter half of the game. While its encounter rate is extremely low, you will be able to find it in the grass patches at Tapu Village, which is on the third island.

When you do encounter it, you can try using a Quick Ball on your first turn to see if it can be caught on the first try. If not, just weaken it before tossing out your regular Poke Balls. While Absol’s catch rate isn’t as ridiculously low as that of Beldum’s and other legendaries, you can expect to throw out more than a few Poke Balls before you finally seal the deal. To make things a little easier, consider using a Dusk Ball if you’re encountering it at night. If not, Ultra Balls will probably be your best bet. Be sure to save your game before searching for Absol so that you can reload your previous save just in case you run out of Poke Balls.
