Naruto Online is the brand new MMO based on the incredibly popular manga and anime series. Players will take control of a powerful shinobi of their own as they play through the story ripped straight from the series. All of the big enemies you’ve come to hate (or love) and the allies you’ve come to love (or hate) are here and ready to join you on the huge, free-to-play adventure.
Part of your adventure will have you dealing with boss battles, which are different from most games you’ve probably played up until now. This difference is largely due to the fact that Naruto Online has several different types of bosses for players to deal with as they progress through the game. Allow us to break them down for you.
Story Bosses
Story Bosses are exactly as their name implies. These are other ninjas or monsters that you will come across as you progress through Naruto Online’s narrative and are usually pulled straight from the series the game is based on. If you’re a fan you can pretty much guess who you’ll come across in each chapter, whether it’s Orochimaru during his invasion of the Hidden Leaf or Nine Tails as it destroys your village.
Now since these bosses are tied to the story itself, they don’t always play out like your typical video game boss battle, meaning you don’t always have to defeat your opponent. When you enter a boss battle, make sure to check the conditions of the fight. While some will indeed task you with defeating whoever appears in front of you, others will ask for something else that ties directly into the story. It may be to survive as you wait for a specific ninja’s arrival, wait for a certain special move to be triggered, or simply last a set amount of time.
Story Bosses are more about the actual plot but that doesn’t mean you should take them lightly. These tend to be very difficult, as they are often turning points in Naruto Online’s overarching story. Always bring your best team to these encounters that way you can reap all of the best rewards.
Chapter Quest Bosses
Naruto Online is broken into chapters, each with their own missions, challenges, and boss fights. Some of these fights are known as Chapter Quest Bosses which are essentially side content for those looking for more challenge and greater rewards. Naturally, as is the case with side bosses in most games, Nartuo Online’s Chapter Quest Bosses are much more powerful than anything else in the chapter.
Highly skilled players may be able to beat these bosses during their first run through a chapter, but it isn’t easy and this is not advised. The best way to tackle these challenges, and thus increase your mission score, is to level up, and then come back when you’re a bit more powerful. This will save you any headaches and make life a lot easier for your shinobi.
Daily Quest Bosses
Every day you’ll have the ability to take on daily quests which include a boss. These can be anyone, and will follow the rules of any other type of boss fight in Naruto Online. The only major difference is that these tend to be much easier to complete, making them a great way to earn some guaranteed experience as well as some much needed items and gear.
If you’re playing Naruto Online, always make sure to start off your day by taking out this challenge first. You never know, it just might make the rest of the day a whole lot easier if you get something good.
Special Event Bosses
These bosses are timed, depend on your level, and only appear during special events. They’re also more challenging than your usual Daily Quest Boss. The good thing is that there are usually more than one for you to fight, so you can pick and choose, although you should really be trying to defeat them all – that way you can reap the maximum benefits for the event.
Seeing as how they’re timed, you’ll want to beat them as quickly as possible. That means balancing your team out for high survivability with solid tanks and healers and stepping up your DPS so that you can cause maximum damage during your turns.
Kage Battles
Last, but most certainly not least, are Kage Battles. These are accessed late in Naruto Online and aren’t for the faint of heart. If you’re a fan of the Naruto series, you’ll undoubtedly already know that the Kage of each village is not only the leader, in charge of running things and protecting civilians, but also a very powerful shinobi in their own right. These individuals only reveal their power in the most dire of circumstances, so you can reasonably expect these encounters to be downright terrifying.
You must bring your A-Game if you hope to have any chance at victory. Take your time recruiting powerful ninjas and unlocking different combos and you’ll be prepared for success.
