Mirror's Edge Catalyst, Faith

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Developer Diary Shows Off Beautiful Combat and Parkour

Run!

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is a game all about running. Just like the original game, players will take control of Faith Connors in a completely first-person view as she parkours her way to stopping a corrupt government. The original game had its problems in both aspects (especially combat, which was just bad all around), and DICE has been working on them for the sequel. You can check it out in the developer diary below.

As audio director James Slavin says, the game is all about “running, walking, jumping, leaping, rolling, and fighting”. What helps sell the feel of that is that the city of Glass will have side missions for Faith to complete, giving players plenty of time to practice their parkour and fighting. Punches and kicks are all well and good, but sometimes, you’ll have to pull off some finishers to make sure bad guys are down for good.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst hits (and runs and rolls) its way to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 26.
