The Medical Wing upgrades are something you want to focus on if you plan on playing a lot of support or just being your party’s healer in The Division. Each of the upgrades unlocks Skills, Talents, and Perks that you can then utilize out in the field.  The Medical Wing doesn’t have as many major upgrades that you should focus on when compared to the other Wings, but it isn’t to be overlooked either.

The ones you really should consider obtaining are:

  • Counseling (200 Supplies) – This upgrade is worth grabbing mainly for the Perk it unlocks: Credit. Enjoy a 10% increase in Credit gains.
  • Pharmacy (200 Supplies) – This particular Wing component has quite a few bonuses you’ll want. Battle Buddy is a Talent that reduces incoming damage after reviving an ally by 50%. Think of it like the overshield you get in Destiny after a revive. You also get the Rigger and Protective Measures Perks which grant you hourly Fabrics and an increase in Filter Level respectively.
  • Decontamination Unit (200 Supplies) – If you’re big on the Dark Zone, this will allow you to extract one extra item. That means fewer trips are necessary to claim and sift through your rewards. The Adrenaline Talent is nothing to scoff at either. If you use a Medkit while not having full health, you’ll gain extra health, letting you last a bit longer in a fire fight.
  • Quarantine (400 Supplies) – For starters, this upgrade unlocks the Tactical Scanner and Scrambler Pulse Mods. Do more damage against scanned opponents (useful always) or make yourself invisible to enemy scans (perfect for the Dark Zone). The Contamination Intel Perk reveals all contaminated areas on your map. Since these tend to house some really good gear, it’s good to be able to spot them.
  • Disaster Aid (1000 Supplies) – The Recovery Link Skill is the mother of all healing abilities. This skill heals, cures, and revives all allies nearby. On top of that, it can overheal players to provide a larger health bar.

Tech Wing

The Tech Wing is for all of you DPS agents. Upgrades here will provide abilities that help with crafting and dealing damage to large groups of enemies on your own. Tech-heavy agents are perfect for providing balance against enemy forces. Some of the best upgrades in this wing, though, actually help to make you more self sufficient.

  • Water Purification (400 Supplies) –  Turret Mods!! The Turret is very useful for when you’re playing solo. It can provide suppressive fire, allowing you to move around and get out of tight spots. With certain upgrades, you can really up the damage as well, taking down even tough enemies while focusing on others.
  • Generators (400 Supplies) – Sticky Bombs are one of the first skill you get in The Division. There’s nothing like hitting some unsuspecting sap with one of these and watching the panic ensue. Adding more damage or a Proximity Fuse mod will help you cover any angle on the battlefield.
  • Division Tech (1000 Supplies) – Tactical Link turns every ally around you into a DPS machine, as well as ups your damage output and critical hit chance. That alone makes this upgrade worth the investment, but the extra Perks on the side make it a must-have. Division Tech Materials lets you convert Division Tech into other materials, and you get the Engineer Perk which deposits electronics at your base every hour. Let the crafting commence.
  • Recalibration (200 Supplies) – Weapons you find while exploring in The Division have random stats and Perks. This station will allow you to switch one stat on any weapon, giving you a chance to make a great weapon even better. We recommend not getting this one until you’re around level 15; you’ll have weapons you actually care about around this time.
  • Recharge Station (200 Supplies) – This is yet another upgrade perfect for those who like the Dark Zone. Purchasing the Recharge Station will give you a 10% increase in Dark Zone Credit gains.

Security Wing

The Security Wing is about keeping your Base of Operations taken care of and your Agent protected. Skills earned from upgrades here will make you a moving fortress, capable of protecting yourself and others from harm. Upgrades in this wing are tuned to helping you get stronger faster as well.

Here are the upgrades that you’ll definitely want to go after early on to make your life in The Division easier:

  • Canine Unit (200 Supplies) – All of the abilities granted by this upgrade are worth it, but Intel Discovery is why you’ll really want this one. Once you complete all of the Side Quests in an area, all collectibles will appear on your map. Since these can help you rake in the XP, you’ll definitely want this ability.
  • Shooting Range (200 Supplies) – This area is useful mostly for getting the hang of weapons and loadouts. Practice your shooting against targets in a safe environment to get the feel for weapons and Skills.
  • Guard Post (200 Supplies) – Chain Reaction is a talent you want if you like using explosives and shooting red canisters. If you catch multiple targets in an explosion, the damage is boosted, leading to more XP and more mayhem. Definitely go for this upgrade early on, as you’ll be dealing with the Cleaners quite a bit in the early game.
  • Procurement Team (200 Supplies) – While the Scavenger perk from this upgrade is definitely useful (grants free items every hour), it’s the two talents that you really want. Steady Hands reduces recoil for 10 seconds when you enter cover, making pulling off headshots much easier. On the Move allows you to reduce incoming damage by 30% for 10 seconds if you kill an enemy while moving.
  • Dark Zone Ops (400 Supplies) – This upgrade provides two very useful perks, especially for higher level players. The first is the Black Market Vendor, which places a Dark Zone shop in your Base of Operations. Hazardous Materials lets you collect one more item from the Dark Zone.
  • Barracks (1000 Supplies) –  You will need the Situation Room and Armory upgrades before you can purchase this one. The Barracks grant you the Combat Veteran Perk. The first Security upgrade, the Situation Room, grants 10% more XP from kills. This one grants 25% more XP from Accolades. Accolades are earned after every fight, and they grant bonus XP for headshots, surviving, and other things.  You will also get the Survivor Link Signature Skill.  This increases the damage resistance of all nearby allies and yourself. Now move as a tank unit and take them down.

Focusing on all of these upgrades for the three wings will give you a leg up on the opposition and make your time in The Division a lot smoother. That doesn’t mean you can ease up, though, New York City still needs saving, Agent.
