Fixing Overwatch 2’s Account Merge Queue Reset Error

As of Oct. 8, Blizzard Entertainment is still working on a solution for account merging and the error causing a queue reset, but the situation seems to be getting for more players as these issues are popping up less frequently.

For the unaware, as the name implies, account merging allows players to link accounts from different platforms to carry over their cosmetics and heroes. The process is pretty straightforward, as long as you have a battle.net account on PC, you can link one account per platform.

As more players have gone to set it up, it seems to have caused an overload in the system. Players have been entering an account merge queue to complete the process. Some players have had it resolved in little time while others haven’t, as the queue has reset leading to much frustration. Per the above tweet, Blizzard is ramping up capacity to hasten the process with that being the only solution to the issue. Rest assured, you will not lose any of your progress. You’re just at the mercy of Blizzard’s servers.

Again, since the tweet was sent out, it seems that more players are starting to see their cosmetics get populated in-game, and getting into the game itself is becoming a much smoother process. If you’re still having trouble with the queue resets, it may be time to reach out to Blizzard’s customer support service.

That is everything you need to know on any potential fixes regarding the account merge queue reset error in Overwatch 2. If you were completely unaware that cross-progression and cross-play was even in the game, we have a guide to help you set the process up. I love almost every type of video game, and when I'm not playing them, I'm writing about them... a lot. I have too many favorites to list so feel free to ask about them! Long live Ugly Sonic and the Resident Evil 3 Remake (this is a meme btw).
