Monster Hunter Stories 2 Co-Op: How to Play Multiplayer

If you’ve played any Monster Hunter game before, you’ll know all about the compelling loop of slaying monsters and then using their monster parts to craft new weapons and armor, only to do it all over again with a tougher beastie. This gameplay loop is fun when you’re playing solo, but Monster Hunter Stories 2 co-op is the best way to experience the game. Here’s how to play co-op multiplayer in Monster Hunter Stories 2.

It’s worth noting that you’ll only be able to take on Expedition Quests in multiplayer. In other words, you can’t take on the story missions with your friends by your side.

How to Play Co-Op Multiplayer in Monster Hunter Stories 2

To play co-op multiplayer, you’ll want to head to the Quest Board found in the center of the village.

When you find the Quest Board interact with it and choose the multiplayer Expedition quest you want to embark on.

Alternatively, you can use an Expedition Ticket to host your own multiplayer quest. Expedition Tickets can be purchased from Melynx Inc, the Felyne NPC in the village who takes Bottle Caps as a currency.

Only the host of the multiplayer session needs to use an Expedition Ticket, so if you’re only looking to join a game don’t worry about these.

Once you’ve either set up your own Expedition quest or selected one from the Quest Board, you’ll be thrown into a game with other players. Here, you’ll be hunting monsters and even using your Kinship Skills together.

When you’ve finished a hunt, you’ll be returned back to the village, where you can choose to take on another of Monster Hunter Stories 2’s co-op multiplayer quests, or continue with the single-player story mode.

That’s everything you need to know on how to play multiplayer in Monster Hunter Stories 2. For more tips, tricks and guides, search for Twinfinite or see more of our coverage on the game below.
