How to Get Maricopia Island Illumina Pokemon in New Pokemon Snap

The Illumina Spot on Maricopia Island lies in the deepest parts of the sea. At first, you’ll only see dozens of Wishiwashi swimming around. That’s the Illumina Pokemon, but you can’t take a photo of it in that form for the professor just yet.

Instead, you’ll need to get the Wishiwashi to form a school. You can do this by throwing Illumina Orbs at each individual fish. When you hit a Wishiwashi, it will spin around and then swim off into the distance. You need to hit as many Wishiwashi with Illumina Orbs as possible.

Eventually, once enough swim off into the distance, they will merge into School Form Wishiwashi. It is a giant Pokemon that will swim right towards you. Hit it with yet another Illumina Orb or two until it begins to glow. That’s when you can snap a photo of it to count for Professor Mirror’s research.

If you get back to Professor Mirror and find that your photos don’t count, make sure you are hitting the giant Wishiwashi school form with a few Illumina Orbs to make it glow brightly. Any photos of the glowing effect will count

That’s everything you need to know about how to get the Maricopia Island Illumina Pokemon. Be sure to check out Twinfinite’s guide wiki for more coverage on New Pokemon Snap.
