How to Drop Trinkets in Binding of Isaac

To drop a trinket, simply make sure you’ve got it selected and ‘equipped’ in your inventory. Now all you need to do is press and hold Left CTRL on PC, RT on Xbox, R2 on PlayStation and ZR on Nintendo Switch for at least three seconds.

This will then cause Isaac to drop the trinket in the room you’re currently standing in. All trinkets can be dropped, except for the Tick, which makes it a little trickier to get rid of as you cannot swap it for any other trinket either.

While dropping trinkets can just be a handy way of managing the various items you pick up on your adventure, it’s also how you’ll unlock Binding of Isaac’s Tainted Characters.

To do this, you’ll first need to open mom’s chest and get the Red Key. After that, you need to drop a trinket on a boss room while descending. When you’re ascending and reach that same boss room, you’ll find the ‘Cracked Key’ item you can pick up instead. Return back home and use the item to unlock a Tainted Character in Binding of Isaac.

That’s everything you need to know on how to drop trinkets in Binding of Isaac. For more tips, tricks and guides, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
