Collecting resources and crafting items is a huge part of Valheim, but you don’t necessarily want to keep everything you’ve accumulated along the way. Here’s everything you need to know about how to destroy items in Valheim.
How to Destroy Items in Valheim
Destroying items in Valheim probably isn’t as straightforward as it should be. There isn’t actually a way to just make an item disappear, which is a bit of oversight on the part of the developers. Then again, Valheim is in Early Access so perhaps it’s a feature that we can look forward to moving forward?
Still, there are some workarounds. The easiest option is to simply discard items somewhere in your seed (map) and just wait a couple of days, after which time it will be destroyed.
Remember, to drop items in Valheim all you need to do is open your inventory with the Tab key, then click the item you want to get rid of and drag it off the inventory and onto wherever you want to discard it.
This isn’t ideal, but maybe you could consider building a giant Viking garbage tip? That or you can just build a huge number of chests and store absolutely everything you want to get rid of.
If that doesn’t work for you, there’s a cleaner way to destroy items, but it involves cheating. By accessing to console with F5, then typing the command “iamcheater,” you’ll activate cheats. You can then use the command “removedrops” to delete anything you’ve thrown on the ground.
For now, that’s everything there is to know about how to destroy items in Valheim. If you’re after more useful tips and information on the game, Twinfinite has written dozens more guides, which you can find by using the search engine from the main menu.
