Demon’s Souls: How to Invade Players

Developed by From Software, Demon’s Souls was originally released for the PS3 about a decade ago. The game is now seeing another resurgence in popularity thanks to the PS5 remake from Bluepoint. The core gameplay remains the same, though the remake does also feature some quality-of-life improvements and other changes to make the overall experience a little smoother. Here’s how to invade players in Demon’s Souls.

Invading Players in Demon’s Souls

If you’ve played Dark Souls or Bloodborne, you should be pretty familiar with the invasion mechanic. You’ll be able to enter other players’ worlds and try to kill them and impede their progress. Successful invasions will allow you to regain human form without the need for a Stone of Ephemeral Eyes. However, if you die from the environment during an invasion, you’ll lose a level, so be careful.

To invade players in Demon’s Souls, you’ll need an item called the Black Eye Stone. You can obtain it from any of the black phantom NPCs in the game, such as Black Phantom Scirvir in Stonefang Tunnels once you reach pure black world tendency.

The easiest way to get it, though, is probably by heading to Tower of Latria. Right before entering the boss fight against the Fool’s Idol, you’ll find a black phantom NPC wielding the Baby’s Nail dagger and a crossbow. The Baby’s Nail can inflict you with Plague extremely quickly, and the crossbow can make short work of you. However, if you can parry her and time your dodges properly, she’s certainly one of the easier black phantom NPCs to take out.

Once you kill her, she’ll drop the Black Eye Stone. To invade players, simply use the item in any area of the game, and you’ll be matchmade with other players if your soul levels are close enough. The Tower of Latria is generally pretty popular for invasions, while the Shrine of Storms is mostly reserved for duels.

That’s all you need to know about how to invade players in Demon’s Souls. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
