How to Get Grassy Surge Grookey in Pokemon Sword & Shield

It’ll take a few minutes to get Grassy Surge Grookey and maybe a little jumping through hoops. But in the long run, it’ll be worth it if you’re trying to set up a team that relies on Grassy Terrain in order to function.

Grassy Surge will instantly change the battlefield to grassy terrain as soon as a Pokemon with the ability is sent it. This completely eliminates the need for a Pokemon with the move Grassy Terrain.

To get this Grassy Surge Grookey in Pokemon Sword & Shield, you’re gonna need a phone and a Switch with the Pokemon Home app installed. Fortunately, you don’t need to pay for the Home app in order to get this special Grookey.

To unlock this Pokemon with its hidden ability, transfer a mon from Sword & Shield to Home using your Switch. Then open the mobile app, tap the button at the bottom of the screen, and tap on Mystery Gifts.

Open up the Gifts Box and you’ll see Gift for connecting to Galar 1 sitting in this box. This is the Grassy Surge Grookey that you’ve been looking for. Tap on it and claim it. Finally, head back to Pokemon Home on the Switch and transfer Grookey to Sword & Shield.
