Stoneshard: How to Save

Stoneshard, the turn-based RPG, has come to Steam this week and is pretty challenging. With the enemies being pretty formidable, you’re going to want to save so that you don’t lose your progress. So that you’re prepared for when you jump in, here’s everything you need to know about how to save in Stoneshard.

Saving in Stoneshard

The first thing you need to know is that there’s no old-school manual save option in the menu. You can’t just pause the game and choose a file to make sure you return to that exact place after you quit.

Also, there is no way to save during the prologue portion of the game. Keep that in mind because, if you quit Stoneshard during it, you’ll have to start all over again.

As for how you do actually save, there are a few checkpoints in the game, usually nearby bosses and things like that, and there’s one other way to save that’s more reliable.

What you need to do is visit the tavern when you’re playing in adventure mode. If you go up to the keeper and ask to rent a room, you’ll be able to head upstairs (go to the right), go into one of the rooms, approach the bed, and select how long you want to sleep for (an hour being enough).

You’ll then be able to continue playing, heading back to that point the next time you start up the game.

Time needed: 1 minute

In short, to save in Stoneshard

  1. The best thing to do is head to a tavern in adventure mode and speak to the owner.

  2. Select how long you want to rent the room for and go upstairs to one of the rooms.

  3. Approach the bed and select how long you want to sleep for.
