The Season of the Undying is now underway in Destiny 2, and with it comes a new activity you can participate in: the Vex Offensive. As you might expect, this new activity comes with a whole host of weapons you can acquire as well. Here’s how to get the Adhortative Pulse Rifle in Destiny 2.
How to Get the Adhortative Pulse Rifle in Destiny 2
While it is possible to get the new gear simply by completing runs of the Vex Offensive, you can also use your Vex Mind Components to obtain Data Seeds from Ikora in the Tower, then fulfill those quest requirements to get the specific weapon you want.
In the case of the Adhortative, talk to Ikora Rey and use your Vex Mind Components to obtain the Data Seed: Pulse Rifle quest step. The first step requires you to get 50 kills with a Pulse Rifle, and the second step requires you to complete one run of the Vex Offensive.
Do both steps, and you’ll be rewarded with the Adhortative. Of course, perks and rolls are random now, so if you want a better roll, you’ll need to spend more Vex Mind Components to get a new Data Seed, then repeat the quest steps again.
How to Get Vex Mind Components
At the time of writing, there seem to be only two ways to get Vex Mind Components in Destiny 2. The first is by ranking up the Season Pass, and you’ll get some at various different ranks and tiers.
The Season Pass is leveled up naturally just by killing enemies and completing bounties, though this isn’t a very good way of actually farming for Vex Mind Components.
The second method is by completing Weekly and Daily Bounties for Ikora. Take on her Bounties at the Tower, and complete them to be rewarded with more Mind Components. Most of her Bounties require you to participate in the Vex Offensive, or just kill Vex enemies across the different planets.
Each Data Seed costs you 10 Vex Mind Components, so use them wisely.
