Starting the Side Mission

The Lost Outsiders side mission isn’t ready for you to simply just go ahead and complete whenever you’ve got the spare time in Gears 5’s Valley. Instead, you’ll need to find the collectible at the Outsiders Campsite.

This campsite can be found on your way to New Hope in Act 2. It’s literally on the path to this settlement, so it’s pretty hard to miss. Once you get here, search for the collectible note.

It tells of a group of Outsiders who have left the Riftworm Village looking to start a new life in the north, and are trying to use a comms tower to get out a message.

Kait decides she wants to try and track them down and help them, so you’re tasked with heading to the comms towers in the north and east.

Heading to the East Comms Tower

While the north tower is arguably closer for you to head to, you can save yourself some back and forth time by heading straight to the East Comm Tower shown on the map above.

Instead of heading into the tower itself, though, you want to visit the East Tower Substation. This can be found just to the left of the start of the path leading to the tower.

Inside, you’ll find Lena’s body, as well as a collectible in the corner that contains the access code to the other substations on the map.

Heading to the North Comm Tower

Now that we’ve got the security code to access the North Comm Tower Substation, you’ll want to head there. Again, we’ve provided a screenshot above indicating where you’ll need to go.

When you arrive here, again, you’ll want to head to the North Tower Substation, rather than the tower itself. This can be found just off to the right of the beginning of the path up to the tower.

On the keypad to the door, you’ll find a note from Lena that explains Norsko has been podded and they’ve had to lock him in there. With the help of the code you got from the collectible, you can head inside.

Kill the Juvie (formerly Norsko), and then open the safe in here. Upon grabbing the upgrade for Jack inside, you’ll have successfully completed Gears 5’s Lost Outsiders side mission.

Gears 5 Lost Outsiders Side Mission Reward

For completing this side mission, you’ll be rewarded with the Seeker Ultimate Upgrade for Jack. This releases Shock-Bots that chase targets and do double damage. This upgrade is automatically equipped over the Shock Trap ability that Jack gets early on in your adventure.
