Rage 2 Update Fixes Bugs and Adds New Game Plus

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Rage 2 may not have had the smoothest of beginnings but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been continual efforts to improve the open world shooter. Today is one of those instances, with the game receiving an update that looks to feature a good amount of improvements, including the addition of New Game Plus.

As expected, this New Game Plus will allow you to start the whole game over while still retaining your character’s progression, but that’s not the only exciting new change. The update also adds an Ironman mode and a new difficulty level called Ultra Nightmare, as well as a host of of little fixes and quality of life improvements. All these are detailed in a tweet released today by the Rage team, which you can check out below.

Are you one of the people that found the intro dialogue and tutorial awkward and a little cringey? Well, now you have the option to skip them completely. You’ll also be able to get your hands on a handy flashlight and enjoy the fact that pop-ups no longer freeze the game, in addition to more general bug fixes.

As well as these relatively minor fixes are some brand new features, such as the new voice pack for Wolfenstein’s B.J. Blazkowicz, no doubt as part of a tie-in with the release of Wolfenstein: Yougblood. Other new features include cheat codes and new weapon skins. Check out the tweet itself for a full list of what this update brings, as well as more promo for the upcoming Rise of the Ghosts DLC and a future expansion coming in November.

Hopefully this update’s new added features will help reinvigorate the game. While Rage 2 has had some teething problems since its launch in May, it’s already made several improvements and looks like it’s set to slowly upgrade into a better game than the one it started as.
