The foxes that were recently added to the Minecraft world are absolutely adorable. The moment I laid eyes on them, I knew I wanted to rear several thousand. But the question was, how to tame a fox in Minecraft? For those of you also wondering this same question, I’ve finally got the lowdown.
How to Tame Foxes in Minecraft
The equipment you will require before the hunt starts is pretty simple – a lead and some sweet berries.
The lead can be easily obtained by taking down a traveling trader, or by crafting one yourself using 4 pieces of string and a slimeball.
In order to snag yourself some sweet berries, you need to look around a Taiga biome until some bushes pop up. Be careful, though, as they can hurt animals if they run through them! So, don’t bring your dog.
Now that you’re all set, you’re going to need to find a group of foxes in order to tame a baby one. The red fox can be found in Taiga biomes as well, after the 1.14 ‘Village and Pillage’ update.
Foxes are also more likely to spawn during the night, so if you want a shorter hunt, buuut the risk of getting impaled by skeletons and zombies, then lucky you! I mean, what’s fox taming in Minecraft without a little risk?
Once you have located a pair of foxes in the group, present one sweet berry to the first fox, and another to the second. They should breed after this, and once they do, attach the lead to the baby and take it home with you!
It sounds a bit cruel, but you all do it with Pokemon so taking a baby animal from its parents to train to attack for you in Minecraft shouldn’t be a difficult transition. Geez.
That’s everything you need to know about how to tame foxes in Minecraft. For more guides, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
