Dauntless is the latest free-to-play title to take the world by storm. This open-world action RPG sees players taking on formidable creatures known as Behemoths either on their own or as part of a team to save the Shattered Isles. Of course, with multiplayer being such an important part of Dauntless, some players may be wondering if the game is cross platform (or cross play) compatible.
Dauntless Cross Platform Compatibility Explained
Well, the good news is that now that Dauntless has officially launched out of its beta phase, the game has opted for a “One Dauntless” vision.
This means that yes, Dauntless is cross-play compatible, whether you’re playing on PS4, Xbox One, or PC. All Dauntless players regardless of the platform they’re playing on will be able to play with others on different consoles.
It’s worth noting, however, that before you can start playing Dauntless with fellow players, you’ll need to make your way through the first few missions and to have successfully created your character.
After you’ve done this, you’ll arrive in the hub world of Ramsgate. It’s at this point you’ll then be able to invite your friends into your game and take down the various Behemoths together.
How to Invite & Play with Friends in Dauntless with Cross-Platform Play
In order to invite and play with friends, you’ll need to first open up the social menu in the game. This can be done by pressing the touchpad on PS4, the View button (the one to the left of the Xbox home button on your controller), or O on PC.
After doing this, you’ll then see a list of your friends on that platform, as well as those on your friends list for your linked Epic Games account.
From there, simply select the friend or friends that you want to invite to your game of Dauntless on the Hunting Party menu. Select their name and choose the invite option.
Then all they need to do is go ahead and open up the Hunting Party menu, accept your invite and they should then appear in your game.
If you find that they don’t appear in your Ramsgate hub world, fear not, once you embark on a quest to take down one of the Behemoths, you should find that your fellow party members spawn in next to you.
