How to Melee and Ground Pound in Crackdown 3
Crackdown 3 has finally arrived exclusively on Xbox One and PC. Fans both new and returning will be able to jump into the battle against Terranova. Sure you have lots of guns, but it’s also fun to punch people in the face. Here’s how to melee and ground pound in Crackdown 3.
At the start of the game, melee attacks in Crackdown 3 are incredibly basic. You just need to tap B over and over and you’ll swing away. Preferably, hold LT while you do, so you can lock on and actually hit things.
When you leveling up your Strength (Red) skill, you’ll learn new melee abilities that make your attacks far more effective and interesting to use. Check out our guide for how to level up your skills as fast as possible, but the short version is simply to make sure to kill enemies using melee attacks to get the red experience orbs.
There are a few different agents you could pick from to level your Strength up faster, but come on, how are you not going to pick Terry Crews’ character, Jaxon, to go out and punch Terranova goons in the face.
Anyway, the most useful ability by far in the Strength/Melee skill tree is the Ground Pound. The Ground Pound is the easiest way to get melee kills because it’s extremely powerful when you drop from a decent amount of air distance. Plus, it’s the only way to avoid fall damage and prevent yourself from dying from a fall.
Once you’ve unlocked the skill, hold the melee button (B), while in the air and you’ll come crashing down. The higher up you are, the bigger the area of effect and damage. It’s one of the best ways to get the jump on a group of enemies from above and rack up red orbs.
Finally, you can also do a charge ground attack too. Hold B and charge it up for a second to do a dash attack which is useful for closing the distance between you and your enemy.
That’s all you need to know for how to melee and ground pound in Crackdown 3. Be sure to check out our wiki guide for more information about Crackdown 3 and check out our review for our final score.
