Everything You Need to Know About Private Sessions in Red Dead Online
Red Dead Online is here and players can jump into the multiplayer game mode of Red Dead Redemption 2. Currently, the beta is going and we’re learning a lot more about Red Dead Online’s structure such as its lobby size. Some players might be wondering then if you can forgo the lobbies and start your own private session and play alone. Here’s what you need to know.
One of the most popular and highly-rated games of the year, fans have been looking forward to the online portion of Red Dead Redemption 2 since it came out back in October.
Here’s the thing though, Red Dead Online is designed to be played with others, you know, online. While plenty of other games have private lobbies, Red Dead Online is not one of them. Rockstar has designed the mode so that you’re always in a lobby with other players.
In other words, there is no option to create your own private lobby.
If that’s disappointing news to you, here are some options you have to alleviate that disappointment. Playing with people you actually know is more fun, so definitely check out our guide doing missions with friends if you need help with that.
If you need some respite from griefers or just other online players in general, you can always hide out in your camp and turn on pacifist mode. With pacifist mode on, other players can’t harass, attack, or bother you. You’ll be able to chill at your camp in total peace.
Visit our guide for how to turn on pacifist mode if you’re not sure how to do that.
That does it for whether you can start private sessions and play alone in Red Dead Online. Sorry we don’t have better news on that front. Be sure to check out our Red Dead Redemption 2 wiki guide for more FAQs answered.
