How to Move Camp in Red Dead Online
The Red Dead Online Beta is rolling out to players now and because it’s brand new for everyone, there are a lot of questions, ranging from the simplest of actions to some of the more complex aspects of the game. Here’s how to move your camp in Red Dead Online.
If you played Red Dead Redemption 2’s single-player campaign, you know that your camp is an important piece of your journey through the Wild West. In the single-player game though your camp moves only when the story dictates that it does.
Sure, it’s yours and there’s a lot you can do to it to make it better, but at the end of the day, you have no control over where it goes — the story does.
If this creative decision left you wanting during the single player portion of Red Dead Redemption 2, you’ll be happy to know that in Red Dead Online, you can move your camp.
Doing so might be confusing at first, but once you know what to do, it’s quite simple actually.
The first thing you need to do is scout a location. While you’re free to set it up in the open, we don’t recommend doing so. That’s just asking for an invasion from a rival posse or gang.
Much like in the story, we recommend setting up in hidden areas to remain as safe as possible while stationed.
Once you’ve scouted out an ideal location, press left on the d-pad. Go to the Camp option and select it. Then, choose Size and Location.
This will bring you to a screen that will ask you to select a size for your camp. Pick the size camp you want and then select a location, ideally the one you already scouted out, and you’re all set!
Assuming you’ve done everything correctly, you should see that your camp has successfully moved. It’s important to note that it does cost $2 to move your camp, so ensure you’ve got some cash on you before doing this.
That does it for how to move camp in Red Dead Online.
