Fortnite Football Skins: Release Date, What Teams & More

Recommended Videos

Fortnite developer Epic Games and the National Football League (NFL) have decided to partner up to sell official football outfits for the game’s Battle Royale mode. That means that players can dress their Fortnite character up as their favorite NFL team from head to toe.

Starting Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. ET, the official NFL themed outfits will be available to purchase through the in-game item shop for all platforms. That includes PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and mobile with iOS and Android devices.

Similar to the soccer themed outfits sold in Fortnite during the 2018 FIFA World Cup last June, players will only need to buy a certain character-look, such as male or female alongside skin color. Players can then switch up their team and jersey number from 0-99 anytime before joining a match, instead having to buy each team or individual numbered jerseys.

List of Teams Available for Fortnite Football Skins

  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Buffalo Bills
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Chicago Bears
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • Denver Broncos

  • Green Bay Packers
  • Houston Texans

  • “Unique Fortnite team”

The full list of outfits available include all 32 official NFL teams and an “additional unique Fortnite team” for a total of 33 teams. The Fortnite team is probably for those that want to get a football-themed skin, but have no allegiance to any of the NFL teams.

It is not known yet how much the Fortnite football skins will cost, though it is safe to assume the price will be on the high end considering the NFL license. If the outfits are Epic rarity (purple) then it will cost 1,500 V-Bucks ($15), while Legendary rarity (orange) will be 2,000 V-Bucks ($20). If the outfits are Rare (blue) like the soccer jerseys, then 1,200 V-Bucks ($12).

No other NFL themed items such as gliders, pickaxes, or emotes have been announced yet. It would not be surprising to see football-themed emotes or dances appearing in the in-game shop in the coming days after the outfits’ launch to complement the theme.

Update 11/09: The Fortnite Football skins are now live in the in-game shop. The Blitz, End Zone, Gridiron, Interceptor, Juke, Rush, Spike, and Strong Guard can be purchased for 1,200 V-Bucks, alongside these other football-themed cosmetics:

  • Whistle Warrior referee outfit – 800 V-Bucks
  • Striped Soldier referee outfit – 800 V-Bucks
  • Upright Axe tool – 800 V-Bucks
  • Golden Pigskin tool – 500 V-Bucks
  • First Downer tool – 500 V-Bucks
  • Touchdown glider – 500 V-Bucks

That is all you need to know about the release date and what teams are coming as Fortnite football skins. For more on the game, be sure to check out our Fortnite Season 6 wiki.
