Where to Find Workbenches in Fallout 76

Recommended Videos

Crafting is a big part of the gameplay loop in Fallout 76, and that means turning all of the loot and various materials you’ve scavenged into usable items. For that you’ll need a workbench, so here’s where to find workbenches in Fallout 76.

Just as in Fallout 4, players can craft a whole bunch of different items and weapons in the game. And in turn, these can all be broken down into parts, and those raw materials can be used to either craft different items or sold at various merchants.

Where to Find Workbenches

Like other structures in the game, workbenches are actually crafted by players. They’re either created at your CAMP or found in discoverable locations throughout West Virginia.

When you first start out in Fallout 76, you’ll only have access to the most basic crafting recipes. As you progress through the game more advanced recipes will become available to you, but these actually need to be found rather than acquired via leveling your character.

Robot vendors, loot containers, and rewards for various quests are all ways to obtain the crafting recipes you’ll need to craft the various workbenches in the game.

Check our our handy how to get more crafting recipes guide for a full break down.

What They’re Used for

Each workbench is used to craft and upgrade different pieces of gear. Below is a list of all workbenches found in the game. The corresponding name should make it fairly obvious what each is for:

The different crafting stations include:

  • Armor Workbench
  • Weapons Workbench
  • Chemistry Station
  • Cooking Station
  • Tinker’s Station
  • Power Armor Station

Most Common Places to Find Them

As we mentioned before, you’re mainly going to be crafting your own at your CAMP. That being said, there are other locations across West Virginia where you’ll actually stumble across them. In our experience, train stations, farms, and generally any of the ‘discoverable’ locations you can find on the map should feature a bench for you to use.

The general rule of thumb is that if you travel to a named location, you’ll likely find some sort of crafting bench or cooking station nearby to help you scrap junk or craft some food.

That’s all you need to know about where to find workbenches in Fallout 76. For more useful information and guides on the game, check out our Fallout 76 wiki page.
