The Surge Expansion ‘The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented’ Announced

Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 have announced a new DLC expansion for The Surge, called The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented. This new add-on, based on an old western aesthetic, will launch on Oct. 2.

In The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented, your goal is to take down the mad scientist Dr. Rischnoter. The hardcore action RPG gameplay of the original game makes a return, with unique weapons and armor sets to collect. The DLC takes place in a Quality Assurance Lab within the CREO facility, where you must brave through Dr. Rischboter’s deadly test chambers that are strangely reminiscent to that of a Wild West TV show.

The mad doctor’s training rooms can be modified for increased rewards by combining up to 4 of the 16 modifiers available. At the end of each stage, you can also duel against Challengers, which are powerful opponents hosting 30 unique new equipment pieces. These pieces can range from armor sets, to weapons and implants.

New players who are eager to try out this new DLC can purchase the Augmented Edition, which will include the full game and all its DLCs. This includes The Good, the Bad and the Augmented as well as the previously released A Walk in the Park.

In case you missed it, a sequel to The Surge was announced earlier this year. The Surge 2’s first gameplay trailer was revealed during Gamescom 2018 back in August. You can read our review of the original The Surge here.

The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented will arrive for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Oct. 2.
