How to Beat Wanted: Blood Cleaver Target in Destiny 2: Forsaken
Two of Destiny 2: Forsaken’s most noticeable changes are the Wanted bounties obtained in the new area, The Tangled Shore, and a new approach to making Lost Sectors far more interesting than they were previously. Weekly, there will be new Wanted targets that are more involved than just showing up to an area and waiting for a mini-boss. In the case of Blood Cleaver, and other future targets, the fight is a mini-adventure that takes place in a Lost Sector and has actual mechanics that prevent you from just easily burning it down with a friend. Here’s how you kill Wanted: Blood Cleaver in Destiny 2: Forsaken.
Blood Cleaver is unique because of its suppression field that will prevent you from using your weapons. You can draw Blood Cleaver out and take a few shots at it before it goes back to its field, but it will always wait for you in the suppression field and will avoid any kind of fair fight. There’s a couple of ways to get around this. You can quickly throw grenades at Blood Cleaver until his health gets low enough to spawn turrets. Persistent grenades like the Sunbreaker’s Thermite Grenade is ideal here and will do a decent amount of damage. Try to use gear that gives you as much grenade energy as possible.
When you’ve done enough damage, there’s a yellow bar turret that spawns in the small arena that you are in. Take that turret, any other enemy that’s in the area out (to be safe), and the turret will drop an orb that you can plant in the device that’s creating the suppression field right in the middle/center of the field. This will take it down, and you’ll have a short amount of time to put some damage on Blood Cleaver. It will also spawn war beasts, including a major war beast that will need to be dealt with. It’s doable to do this solo, but we highly recommend bringing a friend in case you mess up, because you will need to start from scratch if you die.
The field will eventually return, and Blood Cleaver will go back to it. You just need to rinse and repeat, there’s no other mechanics. Turrets and dogs will spawn as you do damage to it, and you’ll need to take them out, blow up the device in the center, damage the boss until its dead.
