Sometimes, Fortnite has a bit of a nightmare and you’ll end up having matchmaking issues. Other times, you might just want to log out and log into your account in the hopes that it’ll shift some pesky lag spikes plaguing your session. Whatever the reason, knowing how to log out of Fortnite on Xbox One can help you quickly get back into the action after an update, technical issues, or otherwise.

If you want to log out of the game on Xbox One, unfortunately, the only way we’ve currently found to do so is to completely close the app and reopen it. Problem is, Fortnite does take a while to load up, so you will have to wait a moment to hop back into the action.

Alternatively, you can just leave your game to do this on its own. Though, it’s worth noting that this can take quite a while of you being completely inactive in-game. As such, the surefire way to log out of Fortnite on Xbox One is to hit that Home button, go back to the dashboard, have Fortnite highlighted, and use the Menu button to Close App. Reopen when it’s done, and you’ll be all set to log back in.
