Atlus has officially announced Etrian Odyssey X (cross) for the Nintendo 3DS. This dungeon role-playing game is the next installment in the series, featuring a crossover of 19 classes from the previous entries. On top of that, there’s also a brand new “Hero” class. The break/boost system from the second game will also be returning to X, as well as the expanded character creation system from the fifth game.
Similarly, you can also use the portrait artwork used in previous games, making for an interesting crossover experience. Etrian Odyssey X will also feature the largest number of maps in the series to date, set in the Remote Island of the Distant Sea, Lemuria. That said, Atlus will be revealing more information about the game in the near future.
All that said, it still remains to be seen if they plan to bring this title over to the west. Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 originally launched last year and has yet to receive a localization announcement. Meanwhile, the fifth game launched in the West more than a year after its initial release date in Japan.
