Wings of Sacred Dawn (Warlock Chest)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

Let’s kick off this list by saying there are more than 10 great exotic pieces of armor, and depending on your class, you’re going to obviously feel partial to the ones you actually equip. That said, we favored exotic armor that can have a big impact on the way you play, and create imaginative and effective builds.

Wings of the Sacred Dawn is an armor piece that just does that. It allows you to suspend yourself in mid-air to shoot without having you to lock yourself into the Attunement of Sky perk tree. With Wings of the Sacred Dawn you can mix its perk with that one of the Attunment of Flame perks, creating unique engagements that wouldn’t be possible without it.

Celestial Nighthawk (Hunter Helmet)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

In PvE, the Gunslinger could use a little bit of help and Celestial Nighthawk is just what the doctor ordered. Like it did in Destiny 1, it turns the Golden Gun into even more of a nuke than it already is. Combining all the shots into one, extremely powerful blast that can rip off a huge chunk of health off of any boss, and will completely annihilate just about anything else. While it’s more or less useless in PvP, it is an extremely valuable piece that any Gunslinger should have handy when doing high-end PvE activities.

Knucklehead Radar (Hunter Helmet)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

A true knucklehead.

One of the reasons Mida Multi-Tool is tearing it up in PvP is because of the extremely helpful perk of being able to see your radar while aiming down the sights. If you’re a Hunter and have Knucklehead Radar handy, you don’t have to limit yourself to just using Mida. Knucklehead Radar extends that out to any gun that you use. While this is helpful in anything you do, it particularly stands out in PvP allowing you to get a jump on adversaries by having your gun drawn and ready to roll while still keeping an eye on their movements. You can pair your favorite gun with permanent radar and increase your pool of viable PvP weapons for competitive play.

Lunafaction Boots (Warlock Legs)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

The Warlock class ability is arguably the most useful, and the Lunafaction Boots are perfect for the Warlock that wants to fully embrace the support role. With these boots equipped, anyone that enters the rift will also have their guns automatically reloaded. Meaning anyone can pop in and out of the rift whenever their ammunition gets low and keep the bullets flying. This is great in any scenario, but in a tough close PvE engagement, this perk could be the difference between surviving or wiping.

Nezarec Sin (Warlock Helmet)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

At first glance, Nezarec Sin may just appear like a bland exotic that just increases the recharge rate on your abilities for some Void kills, but when paired with right perks, it turns the Voidwalker into a near unkillable tank. The Attunement of Hunger perk tree allows Voidwalkers to use Devour to consume grenades or get melee kills to recover health. Using Nezarec Sin to keep your abilities charged and ensures that you can always keep your health topped off.

Hallowfire Heart (Titan Chest)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

Besides being the sexiest armor in the game, Hallowfire Heart is also one of the most useful. It’s designed for Sunbreakers that are prone to hanging onto their super ability until the perfect moment. While you’re waiting around fully charged being indecisive about when to use it, all of your Solar abilities will recharge MUCH faster than normal. It’s so beneficial in fact, that depending on what you’re doing it actually might be more advantageous to not use your super. Combined with Sunspots provided by the Code of the Siegebreaker, you can almost just spam grenades such as Sunbreaker’s Thermite Grenade, and just straight up lock down an entire lane with non-stop hellfire.

Mask of the Quiet One (Titan Helmet)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

The Mask of the Quiet One is similar to the Nezarec Sin in that it turns the Sentinel into a very hard to kill tank. I mean, the Sentinel was already designed to be the tankiest of the tanks, but Mask of the Quiet One puts it over the top with its perks. Any void kill triggers health regeneration and whenever you’re damaged, you’ll pick up extra ability energy to help charge them up quicker. This encourages an aggressive and tanky style of play that will make the Sentinel truly feel like what Defender should have been in Destiny 1.

Karnstein Armlets (Warlock Gauntlets)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

If you don’t mind mixing it up in hand-to-hand combat as a Warlock, then the Karnstein Armlets are among the best in the game. It’s quite simple, punch things, and get health, melee, grenade, and class ability recharge. This also pairs quite nicely with the Voidwalker in particular who can combine this with its Attunement of Hunger perk tree to become very difficult to kill, but gets bonus points for being useful across all three Warlock subclasses.

Synthoceps (Titan Gauntlets)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

Synthoceps is a reminder to be careful of who you make fun of in high school, because they could end up looking preeeeeety good down the line. Remember how everyone made fun of Titans for their shrimpy T-Rex arms? Well when a Titan has Synthoceps equipped, they will be the ones laughing as it grants them the longest ranged melee attack in the entire game. Seriously! While obviously being useful for any situation where you want to punch someone’s face from a distance, it’s especially crazy good in PvP where many close range engagements are decided by melee attacks. The Synthoceps can be paired nicely with an Auto Rifle, SMG, Fusion or any other close range weapon to create a scary effective 1-2 wombo combo.

Orpheus Rig (Hunter Legs)

Top 10 Best Destiny 2 Exotic Armor That Are True Game Changers

Finally we get to the Orpheus Rig. It tops our list and is certainly the best leg armor for any Nightstalker Hunter. While the rest of the subclasses have caught up to the Nightstalker a bit in Destiny 2 in regards to fireteam synergy, the Orpheus Rig cements the Nightstalker’s historic role as team support and crowd-control king. A well-placed arrow shot that tethers a high number of enemies will dramatically recharge Shadowshot’s recharge. When in the right hands (or legs I guess), your Nightstalker can nearly always have a fully charged quiver of Shadowshots ready to roll to keep dangerous packs of enemies or majors under control at all times.
