No Man’s Sky: How to Get More Standing With Aliens

Alien Standing – No Man’s Sky

Recommended Videos

No Man’s Sky is full of life, all across the universe that Hello Games has made for us. Along the way, you’re bound to meet different alien races that you can befriend or totally piss off. (Check out our in-depth Alien races wiki over here!) But, did you know you can actually use different aliens’ help, provided they like you first?

That’s right, some will offer you healing or information if you come across them, if they think of you as a friend. While No Man’s Sky doesn’t really provide a way for you to see your reputation, there are a variety of ways to get them to like you. Here are some of the ones we’ve found so far:

  • Pick a good response whenever you’re talking to them. Pay close attention to the conversation’s context clues, pick the response they want to see, and boom, brownie points.
  • Activate their race-specific terminals, monoliths, plaques, and beacons that you’ll find around the planets.
  • If you see them getting attacked, fight off their pursuers. Or, you know, generally just make sure they stay alive if they’re in a fight.

Everyone’s standing with you is indifferent, at first, but as you do more and more of the above, you’ll see a message letting you know that things are getting better: “Your standing with ____ has increased/decreased.” Note that, yes, you can also make enemies. Making friends across the galaxy, though, can come in handy when you find yourself in need of their help, and happen to come across them on your travels.

Have you found other ways to get an alien race to like you? Let us know in the comments below! If you need any more help with No Man’s Sky, check out our robust wiki full of guides and tips.
