The Division’s Best Base Upgrades You Should Get

Security Wing

The Security Wing is about keeping your Base of Operations taken care of and your Agent protected. Skills earned from upgrades here will make you a moving fortress, capable of protecting yourself and others from harm. Upgrades in this wing are tuned to helping you get stronger faster as well.

Here are the upgrades that you’ll definitely want to go after early on to make your life in The Division easier:

  • Canine Unit (200 Supplies) – All of the abilities granted by this upgrade are worth it, but Intel Discovery is why you’ll really want this one. Once you complete all of the Side Quests in an area, all collectibles will appear on your map. Since these can help you rake in the XP, you’ll definitely want this ability.
  • Shooting Range (200 Supplies) – This area is useful mostly for getting the hang of weapons and loadouts. Practice your shooting against targets in a safe environment to get the feel for weapons and Skills.
  • Guard Post (200 Supplies) – Chain Reaction is a talent you want if you like using explosives and shooting red canisters. If you catch multiple targets in an explosion, the damage is boosted, leading to more XP and more mayhem. Definitely go for this upgrade early on, as you’ll be dealing with the Cleaners quite a bit in the early game.
  • Procurement Team (200 Supplies) – While the Scavenger perk from this upgrade is definitely useful (grants free items every hour), it’s the two talents that you really want. Steady Hands reduces recoil for 10 seconds when you enter cover, making pulling off headshots much easier. On the Move allows you to reduce incoming damage by 30% for 10 seconds if you kill an enemy while moving.
  • Dark Zone Ops (400 Supplies) – This upgrade provides two very useful perks, especially for higher level players. The first is the Black Market Vendor, which places a Dark Zone shop in your Base of Operations. Hazardous Materials lets you collect one more item from the Dark Zone.
  • Barracks (1000 Supplies) –  You will need the Situation Room and Armory upgrades before you can purchase this one. The Barracks grant you the Combat Veteran Perk. The first Security upgrade, the Situation Room, grants 10% more XP from kills. This one grants 25% more XP from Accolades. Accolades are earned after every fight, and they grant bonus XP for headshots, surviving, and other things.  You will also get the Survivor Link Signature Skill.  This increases the damage resistance of all nearby allies and yourself. Now move as a tank unit and take them down.

Focusing on all of these upgrades for the three wings will give you a leg up on the opposition and make your time in The Division a lot smoother. That doesn’t mean you can ease up, though, New York City still needs saving, Agent.
