A few weeks ago, Sony started letting people request free PlayStation camera adaptors that will allow folks to use the PS Camera and PSVR from the PS4 on the PS5.
The PS5 does not support the camera without the adaptor and no, the new HD camera for the PS5 will not work with the current PSVR model. I requested one of these adaptors for myself late last month, Oct. 28 to be exact, and I received the adaptor in the mail today, Nov. 9.
You can still request the adaptor by going right here to this link. The form will ask for your PSVR processer serial number and then it’ll ask for your info to know where to ship the adaptor. And don’t worry, there’s no charge at all for Sony to ship this to you.
Sony stated that the adaptors would not ship in the Americas until mid-November but it seems that they’ve started sending them out earlier than anticipated. You can check out how the PlayStation camera adaptor looks down below:
The PS5 is set to launch on Nov. 12 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea for the suggested retail price of USD 499.99, while the digital edition is priced at USD 399.99 and contains no physical disc drive. The console will launch on Nov. 19 everywhere else.
