Retro Survival Horror Game Tormented Souls Gets New Trailer; Coming Later This Month to Consoles & PC

Every once in a while a horror game sneaks its way onto the scene with little to no fanfare, and the latest title to do exactly this is Tormented Souls.

Developed in tandem by two indie studios, Dual Effect and Abstract Digital, and published by UK-based company, PQube, Tormented Souls is an old-school, fixed-camera survival horror experience inspired by the original Resident Evil and Alone In The Dark games.

Today, we not only got a new cinematic trailer showcasing the horror title in action, but we also received a concrete release date, too. Specifically, Tormented Souls will be launching on 27 August across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam for a retail price of $19.99/£16.99. Clearly, classic survival horror seems to be the order of the day. Creepy fixed camera angles, shadowy corridors and gothic imagery suggest Tormented Souls may well be a scary time worth keeping an eye on. One thing’s for sure: Those monster designs are pretty awesome (read: horrible), which is always a good thing, right?

Interestingly, the game is also scheduled to be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in the future, but there’s no confirmed release date as of yet.
